MarkM 0 #27 June 23, 2004 QuoteUnfortunately, I have never "worked out", and my eating habits are atrocious. Ahh good, I'm not the only lazy bum around here. Hmmm, been sitting around on my arse all day in front of a computer. Think I'll order a pizza for dinner.... heheh. Does packing count as a workout??? Darius11 12 #28 June 23, 2004 I used too 5 days a week. Cardio and weights. I run about 3.5 miles then go do upper and abs, or lower and abs depending on the day. I have not worked out for…….. this is the 4th week I am just really really bored with the gym right now.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

TheAnvil 0 #30 June 23, 2004 I do a myriad of things. No set sked really (except for wing chun). I do yoga almost every morning, so I guess that's sort of regular. Mainly I just do what I feel like - just so I do something every day. Yoga, running, swimming, calisthenics, tai-chi, baguazhang, wing chun - that's about it. Calisthenics being the most common, closely followed by wing chun. I don't do tai-chi very much anymore nor bagua - about once a week for each I'd say. Sometimes twice. skybeergodd 0 #31 June 23, 2004 I work out at least 3 days a week....2.5 hours each workout(we have a gym and a set workout time at the firehouse) I do 3-4 miles on the treadmill then hit the weights. 1 day is arms and abs the next is shoulders and back and the last day is legs and whatever hurts the least......staying fit does prevent injury and makes it easier to do the old job. Flyer2Diver 0 #32 June 24, 2004 I lift weights 3x/week. Mostly freeweights, usually for about an hour per workout. Used to lift more, but now my weekends are full with jumping and recovering from jumping, so I mostly just lift during the week after work. Occasionally I'll run on the treadmill too. I know I should do more cardio, but I don't really like it._______________________________ 30005KT 10SM SKC 23/05 A3006
ThighMan 5 #33 June 24, 2004 I work out 5 days a week (almost three times a day). 02:15 Pushups and situps, 04:00 Gym (different body part each day), 07:00 P.T. Vallerina 2 #34 June 24, 2004 Yes, I workout. I run 5 days a week 3 miles each time. Sometimes, I lift weight (twice a week.) I do it because it makes me feel so much better. I also like my increased metabolism. I went today at lunch and I discovered that "Dangerous on the Dance Floor" and "Black Betty (techno remix)" are great songs to run to!!! skymut 0 #35 June 24, 2004 Let's see. I usually work out between 4 and 6 days a week. A typical week looks like this; 30 minutes of cardio in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening - usually stairs or jogging. I do weight training 4 times a week, usually Mon, Tues and Thurs, Fri. My total time in the gym during the week averages around 8 hours. I alternate workout routines though, especially weight lifting. Your body is quite adaptable and after about 3 weeks on the same routine, you won't see any 'gains'. Mix it up. Matt A well-informed person is somebody who has the same views and opinions as yours. That's hard work and maybe the reason I don't live on a farm anymore. Matt A well-informed person is somebody who has the same views and opinions as yours. brits17 0 #42 June 24, 2004 I go stir crazy when I can't work out routinely. It drives me up the wall, I find myself throwing down (push-ups) while I'm stalled on the freeway even. But routinely its 4 days/week. 2 weight training days, 2 cardio days. Exercises vary. I like the pyramid method, as on Mondays I start out light-moderate, Wednesday going hard, and tone it back down by Friday. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

Then 1 hour of cardio ie stationary bike, rowing, stairmaster. Next is 10 minutes of stretching. I want to begin doing mileage on a regular bike again as soon as I can. Running is out of the question forever (sigh......) Yes I'm addicted too. And yes, it helps you heal quicker. brits17 0 #47 June 25, 2004 QuoteQuoteheart rate at 80% of maximum at all times What is the maximum heart rate? I don't understand the heart rate measuring thing. Everybody says different things. There are a couple formulas to calculate MHR but the easiest is 220 - age. For example someone who's 35 will have a MHR of 185 beats/minute. If he works out at 80% MHR then he's working at 148 bpm. Does that help? _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

crutch 0 #50 June 25, 2004 Yes, I workout. If you jump in Paltaka on Sunday mornings you can usaully see me riding up on my bike around 10:00. Then of course I am training for an Ironman length triathlon in the fall, so most of my spare time is spent doing some type of exercise. It does help after doing five to ten tandems (packing them all myself), at the end of the day I can make it home without fallinf asleep at the wheel.blue skies, art
