Conundrum 1 #1 June 22, 2004 Who's bikes do you like better? I'd have to say WCC, Jesse does an amazing job fabricating his own bikes, and although OCC has some pretty amazing bikes themselves, they don't really fabricate anything, and Jesse does, which earns a lot more respect from me. diablopilot 2 #2 June 22, 2004 I like OCC styles better....---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
PhillyKev 0 #3 June 22, 2004 QuoteI like OCC stlyles better.... Ditto. And they do fabricate most of the bike. They may start out with stock gas tanks but they frequently cut them apart and refit them. The fenders, handle bars, exhaust, seat backs are all fabricated.
LoudDan 0 #4 June 22, 2004 But I haven't seen OCC make there own frame yet, plus that new copper bike that Jesse did where all of the fenders, tank, seat pan, heat shields, etc, were made out of copper......is smoooooooooooth. I just don't thing Paul Jr. is up to that level yet. Eventually, but not yet. Coming soon to a bowl of Wheaties near you!!
PhillyKev 0 #5 June 22, 2004 True, they outsource a lot of the work. But it's their designs. Many of the frames are custom built for them, based on their designs. That copper bike is sweet looking, though. But OCC did it first with the Statute of Liberty bike.
josheezammit 0 #6 June 22, 2004 OCC cause they fight more about the bikes then anything Ahh, what a wonderful world.
Kris 0 #7 June 22, 2004 As much as I detest cruisers and choppers, I really have to give it up to OCC for the Statue of Liberty bike they did. That bike turned out to be a piece of rolling art and history. I haven't seen anything come out of WCC's shop that has grabbed me in the same way. Now if we were talking Arlen Ness or one of Chica's bikes (anyone see his Unicorn bike?), that'd be a different story altogether. But for now, I'll keep riding supersport bikes.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
kingbunky 3 #8 June 22, 2004 i like jesse's bikes better, because you'd end up with something totally unique, every bike is built 100% inhouse. if i was in the market for a custom bike though, i think i'd talk to billy lane. some of his stuff is just amazing."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." wzettler 0 #9 June 22, 2004 Quote That copper bike is sweet looking, though. But OCC did it first with the Statute of Liberty bike. Are you basing that on the fact that the OCC show aired first? How do you know who came up with it first? I don't know, I am just wondering how you do. Could you explain? Thanks. I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them. AggieDave 6 #10 June 22, 2004 Depends on what you're really into. OCC has some sweet theme bikes, but their regular choppers are pretty lame. WCC has some really nice choppers, but they really don't do much in theme bikes. They definately don't go all out on the theme bikes like OCC does. Eitherway Paul Sr. needs to lay off the 'roids.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Slappie 9 #11 June 22, 2004 IF I had the cash and wanted a custom chopper built. Something I would ride on the weekends or take on a road trip. I would have to give it up to Jesse James WCC would be the place. He would design a piece of me in that bike. Might take a year or so before I saw it. OCC is a TV Show. They make theme bikes. Those aren't your everyday bikes. Those are made for show. Their "for sale" choppers aren't that special. Billy Lane on the other hand. That dude is a freak! I base all my answers from the shows on tv, I know nothing about any of those fabricators other then they are on teebee.. mardigrasbob 0 #12 June 22, 2004 What about Kid Rock's rendition of Longhaired County Boy? Having a Harley and loving to ride; I think Jesse is da man. Poor guy, fame is wearing on his ass. O.C.C. is incredible, their bikes set the benchmark. Too damn cold in N.Y. They need to show what happens when everybody is off work. -----------
kingbunky 3 #13 June 22, 2004 Quote Billy Lane on the other hand. That dude is a freak! an educated freak though... check out the psycho-billy cadillac bike. Quote Born and raised in Miami, custom-bike builder Billy Lane holds an associate of science degree in mechanical engineering from Florida State University and a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Florida International University. of course, what the hell is the 'florida international university'? and what exactly is an associate of science degree? YahooLV 0 #14 June 22, 2004 If I had 200K to spend...I'd give it to Paul, Jr., Vinny and Mikey and have them develope a skydiving focused bike. (Wonder where they'd put the hackey?)http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
cderham 0 #15 June 22, 2004 I have to say Jesse!! He is the inovator. If is was not for the success and responce to motorcycle mania 1 then American Chopper might not be around. Jesse is a real dude that started out in his garage getting trashed by everybody for the bikes he built. But he kept doing it because that is what he loved to do. He didn't do anything to gain attention to himself for that reason. OCC builds theme bikes to gain attention. Don't get me wrong I watch American Chopper every week and really dig there bikes. BUT Jesse set the bar years ago. Jesse, Chica, Billy Lane, Yaffe How many people have heard of them before discovery channel did there specials. I have been following some of there work years before TV. Which brings me to another point how many people know who Von Dutch is? I'm 30 years old and have been tinkering with hot/street rods and bike since I was a kid and it kills me to watch some spoiled kid walk in and buy a $75 VonDutch hat and not even know of the man is whos design they wear!!! Just my 2cents, Thanks for the ear Chris
JoeyRamone 0 #16 June 22, 2004 That is a no brainier, WCC makes all there own parts, minus Trans and engine, OCC orders all parts then try’s to fabricate...Come on now.... Jesse is the real deal, OCC is a soap show for fags.
JoeyRamone 0 #17 June 22, 2004 occ does not make ANY of there own parts.... Here are some of the real deal.....
lummy 4 #18 June 22, 2004 Quoteand what exactly is an associate of science degree? It's an Associate's degree with a major in a science, such as computer science, or engineering. For example, the college I'm going to offers an A.S in Microsoft networking technology (bascially an MCSE) but with the general ed requirements for an A.A Can ya guess what I'm trying to get? If I had the choice, I'd go with one of Jessie's bikes. They're more of a "made to fit the person" kinda bike.I really like some of OCC's bikes, particularly the POW/MIA one tho. That was sweet. I do tend to get bored with the constant "gimmick" bickering on the show tho. side note, Jessie doesn't manufacture the engine's so you can't really say they are 100% done in houseI promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. pilotdave 0 #19 June 22, 2004 I liked OCC's Comanche bike. One of my coworkers pissed off the motorcycle world when he forced Paul Jr. to wear a helmet when he rode down the runway with the Comanche helicopter flying over. He said they got some incredible footage doing a bunch of runs down the runway but the show only used a few seconds of it. Good thing they filmed that when they did... it's a museum piece now. JoeyRamone 0 #20 June 22, 2004 funny thing Jesse was at the OCC shop , new years day, this year, he challenged OCC to a bike build off they said no way.....Wonder why? Because the suck and make theme bikes. That is why...I would guess most people on here do not know shit about choppers anyway, just what they see on TV.... JoeyRamone 0 #21 June 22, 2004 Some other great bike builders. Chica, Billy Lane, Shooters Scooters, to name a few....
cderham 0 #22 June 22, 2004 also check out killer choppers, Redneck engineering has a killer pan chop, also check out sucker punch sally's they make some cool old school chops. mardigrasbob 0 #23 June 22, 2004 QuoteOCC is a soap show for fags. Bet you ain't got the balls to say that to Paul Sr.'s face; more than once! Send pictures of your welds!
