Why are ALL MAJOR navy boats in Deep water?...

I personally have a feeling it might be associated with the recent things "falling out of the sky".

Shit, it's our fault. :)

All it takes these days are a couple of suspicious e-mails sent from a mosque, and governments respond by spending huge sums of money shifting resources. Clearly, this cannot go on indefinitely. Eventually there will be more proactive measures, but it will cause internal political issues for the modern democracies.

Why this type of deployment?

I honestly haven't an idea...and the article mentioned something about June 20th. that's this sunday - father's day...and despite the current discord in the world, I don't think all the ships are going to fire in unison to celebrate the fathers of this country...but I don't know anything else for that date - no real anniversaries, no holidays, and so on. All I know is I'll be flying home that day...

Rhino, why do you think this is happening?

Don't really think this is a joking matter do you?

Why this type of deployment?

Everything is a joking matter.

FYI I find it very difficult to believe that every major ship in every major navy in the world could suddenly deploy out to sea in a big hurry and only one small paper has one article on the subject B|

Gimme a break dude :S

No clue...

Me neither. I was hoping this was a pop quiz, and you'd give us the answer...;) Oh well, I'm still traveling this weekend, and hopefully nothing will happen.

BTW, where can you look to see all the ships at see? Can you link it? That might be interesting.

(And not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know the website where you can watch the airplanes over the US at any given time? I remember seeing it, but I don't remember where.)

I am starting to think we are going to bomb Iran.... I mean BOMB... hmm...

Hrm is right.

OTOH, given the original post was something about things "falling from the sky," as we had two meteor "strikes" (dunno if they hit...) in the last few weeks here on the West Coast, and then there was something mentioned about either NZ or Australia having an impact in a home, I was thinking more along those lines...

'Course, things "falling from the sky" could also mean bombs.

I would sincerely hope not, despite the pre-emtive strike issue which passed recently.

Well, time will show us what is going on. Either something so huge we can't do much about, or much ado about nothing more than a military exercise...

A-HA!!! I KNEW some shit was happening with signal!! I was in communications for TOO LONG to blame this on sun spots....see here:

Quote

PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- Boaters will be unable to rely on Global Positioning System equipment and possibly cell phones because of scheduled disruptions from Friday to Sunday that will affect mariners transiting the waters of North Carolina and parts of Florida.

GPS interference testing conducted during an exercise by the Department of Defense will make the GPS signal unreliable and may affect cell phone signals from about 50 to 60 miles off the coast of Cape Hatteras, N.C., and approximately 80 miles out between Jacksonville and Melbourne, Fla.

Disruptions along the North Carolina Coast will affect Albemarle Sound, Pamlico Sound and the Coastal North Carolina area from Currituck Beach Light to Cape Lookout and the IntraCoastal Waterways of North Carolina.

"The Coast Guard fully supports the efforts of the Department of Defense during this important exercise," said Rear Admiral Sally Brice-O'Hara, commander of the Fifth Coast Guard District. "But, we must get the word out to impacted mariners so they can take the necessary precautions to keep themselves safe during this busy boating season."

Mariners should not rely on GPS nor cell phones from June 11 to 20. Plan ahead and use VHF radios to communicate on the water. A cell phone is a good backup communications device, but out on the open water, it is no substitute for a VHF radio.

Sure, they disclose this on the east coast, but then why are multiple wireless carriers having coverage issues simultaneously over here in the Pac NW, too?? Communications disturbances have been NOTICEABLE in the past couple of months I'd say, give or take. -This coming from one that is ALWAYS connected to something, somewhere...:P

Ooo! Let's start our own 'Conpiracy Theory' just like the movie...B|

Naw, relax Rhino. I mean really, do you have to question our government for spending large amounts of our tax $$$'s on training missions?? As if that DOESN'T happen?? Ah c'mon...they're prolly having a great time out to sea together, that's all...:S:P

"I have friends in the intelligence industry that have confirmed that every major navy is in deep water."

Surely not the same friends that told you that SH had WMDs, the same pals that told you that there was irrefutable evidence of links betwen Iraq and terror organisations.

Chill Sarge, if something is afoot, there's next to nothing we can do about it now.
