Giant Rubber Ball Fails To Bounce

Recommended Posts

However, there was a problem: instead of bouncing, the ball created a massive crater in the sun-baked earth of the Mojave Desert in Arizona at 400 mph

Who would have thought! Waht a freaking surprise! lol

I want to know wtf cost 4 million doing that? Was the pentagon involved? lol

Not yet, and I have lots of $$ on my account.:( I really screwed up my back and mostly my left leg. I still have a briuse 4 inches high where my left legstrap was. The Right side is fine but that is the side where the lines broke. I have to visit doctor again soon. I still can hardly walk. Or sit. Or stand. Got lots of pics of the damage though. I do plan on getting in air APSP. Ask doctor how long I should wait, and he said I can never jump again. They just dont understand.

The cutaway has helped with my confiance. I have reviewed EPs in my head daily for a long time and I was able to execute without freakin. However, I did not plan on injury from a hard opening. Now I have a new variable to think about on every jump. I now understand why people say they cringe at pulltime on every jump.

Yo, can we get a 90 degree rotation to the left?

If you were lying down, like you should be when thinking about me, your head would be sideways and you'd be looking at me the correct way.

So, no. Turn your head to the right.

I saw the program on tv like a year ago... one of their helocoptors crashed on the way to the desert. that might be figured into the 4 million.
they had to pay to ship the rubber band ball all the way from the UK (i think).
plus they had to pay off the guy who spend like 10 years of his life making this thing.

but after that thing hit, it was laying there making creepy munching noises

Ripley's should have consulted with Kallend before trying that--- I'll bet he KNEW it was gonna do that and could have shown them the math...

But then again, maybe they just wanted to smash up this guys rubber band ball :)

The best part is why the helicopter crashes.

So they have this Million dollar gyro stabalised camera on the bird, and they decide to get some shots of the Ripley's bus on the way to the dropzone. So here's the bus driving along the road with a helicoper flying off to one side and slightly ahead, and the pilot manages to hook some power lines with the skids at 60 mph bringing the bird down fast!

At least there were a bunch of cameras rolling!

Ripley's threw a huge rubber ball out of an airplane, and it failed to bounce...

From Brent Finley's view...
Quote

The ball made an impact crater 4 feet deep in the soft dirt, bounced another 75 feet, and sluffed off about 1 foot of it's diameter that lay in a heap about 10 feet from the remaining ball.

So, it did bounce, right ? There was video, it happened.;)
