QuoteWell, we all know Calgary got hosed with the call in game 6.
Andreychuk will get his cup.
Oops. Penalty on him.
Hey Tunaplanet, I'm not making excuses..you posted that it was a goal. Calgary had other chances to win and didn't. When you don't get a call you can't sit and cry about it. That's the way it goes. Tampa is the Cup Champion and good for them, they had to dig down deep and play their guts out to beat the Flames.
As much as I wanted Calgary to win, I'm glad to see Andreychuk win a Cup. He's had a long career, scored a ton of goals and it's nice to see him get a ring. This was likely his last game so he gets to end it at the top!
Flames did great...way better than most people ever expected. Hopefully there will be a next year!

QuoteAnd a hush falls over all of Canada. HAHAHAHAHAHA. What do you think about that, eh? Pretty good game, eh? Maybe next year, eh?
Hope you never burned your house down setting off fireworks last night Tunaplanet but we aren't going to have to wait for next year....World Cup coming up and Canada is going to kick ass!

Hmmm ... the last time I looked, the top three offensive players for the Tampa Bay Lightning: Brad Richards, Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St Louis (not counting Dave Andreychuk the sentimental favorite for finally winning his first cup) are all Canadians. Hmmm ... I guess there isn't a single community in Canada much less a family that has anything to celebrate today. So instead of showing your patriotic ignorance, maybe you should think about the players and where they come from which makes up this latest Stanley Cup championship team. Congrats to the Tampa Bay Lightning and their fans and thanks for the great playoff run must also go to the Calgary Flames.
Not counting the World Cup, it could be a while before we get to see another NHL game.

Take a look at both rosters ... the majority are from Canada. Very few Americans, actually.
No hushin' up here ...

That's right. The article read that we lost and the Flame won. ROFLMAO. Newspapers always write 2 versions in case the other team wins to make the deadline. Apparantly they published the wrong version. Funny shit.
As soon as I find the actual article I will post it. Funny shit.

No I was cheering for the Flames. Actually I just wanted the game to go into OT (how much more drama do you want than OT in the 7th game of the finals) and the Flames came close to trying it with what appeared to be an open net and about six minutes left in regulation. But Nikolai Khabibulin shut the door really fast.

But I was glad to see Dave Andreychuk finally win the cup. So now if I'm not mistaken, Dale Hunter now holds the dubious distinction of playing the most NHL games without a Stanley Cup championship.

Stanley Cup Champions - Tampa Bay Lightning (unless you read the Tampa Tribune).

Not unless they like being losers.
Two points of thoughts here.
1. It was never USA vs Canada.
2. No one gives a shit where a player is from. All that matters is what team he is playing for. I am a Lightning fan. I root for all the players regardless of where they are from.
But hey, if having Canadian players on the Stanley Cup team makes you feel better, then you should be happy every year.

Yeah, if you add up all the Florida players and multiply by a million it's still 0.
And there's just something fundamentally wrong with the Stanley Cup in Florida. I mean, really, what do people in Florida know about winter sports.

Really, I just wanted to stir the pot a little though.
