seekfun 0 #3 June 8, 2004 I chartered a little 172 flight over the White Mountains while I was in Alaska in March. We just went out to fly north of the Arctic Circle, land, and then come back. It was so cold outside that the GPS system kept shutting down. Every time I would reboot it, it made me chuckle because it was running on Windows NT 4.0. Even bush pilots can't get away from Microsoft. - topher"...there is a there out there..." - Tom Robbins

That reminds me, a couple of years back, I was at a train station and 2 guys were reloading the ticket machine, after that, they restarted the machine and if was Windows NT, so I said to them: "Now I know why the trains are always late" __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. seekfun 0 #5 June 8, 2004 You know, I read somewhere that many automakers use versions of Linux in their Automatic Braking Systems (ABS). That might be why they work so well... They don't have to reboot all the time. - topher"...there is a there out there..." - Tom Robbins
CrazyIvan 0 #6 June 8, 2004 QuoteYou know, I read somewhere that many automakers use versions of Linux in their Automatic Braking Systems (ABS). Cool, because if they used Windows we would have to push the brake pedal, hit the horn and shift to neutral (the Ctrl+Alt+Delete equivalent) __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
