skybytch 273 #1 May 29, 2004 Live from the packing area - we are not sucking in Perris. The weather's doing it's best to keep us down.... but we did manage to pull off a nice 2 point 8 way before the clouds came back. We're off weather hold now. Too many people here for me to list. You should be here too.
quade 4 #2 May 29, 2004 Live from my trailer behind Square 1! Skyvan 9 is on about a 20 minute call. This will be the first of several "big-ways", but clearly this one can only tie the current 2 point 15-way since that's all that's on this particular load. Weather is currently beautiful and should continue to be good through sunset. I'll give a report when I get back down on the jump.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
jceman 1 #3 May 29, 2004 QuoteSkyvan 9 is on about a 20 minute call. Live from The Drop Shop -- load 10 is in the air. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
Michele 1 #4 May 29, 2004 Live from Burbank....load 3 is on a 42 minute call! Fine. Laundry load 3. Dammit! !!!! I am green with envy!!!!! I'm going to try to get out to Perris tomorrow, but until then, I am bitterly envious. skymama 37 #5 May 29, 2004 Live from the soccer mom house...1 game down (won 7-1), 4 more to go in the local tournament. My son is going to a Bar Mitzvah tonight and I get to see him wear his first suit. My daughter got her Learner's Driving Permit on Thursday. No skydiving for me, but these things are equally good. Good luck on breaking the record! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

quade 4 #7 May 29, 2004 Well . . . billvon and the rest of the 8-way base got off to a great start, stable and whatnot, but on the hill and transitioning to the set up for the divers they had a bit of a rotation going. We had some folks fly to wacky places they shouldn'thaveoughtogottento, and, well, maybe a couple minor bumps and fly unders . . . Anyway, we're taking up another group here in just a couple of minutes to calm everybody down and just fly a bit more. I think this is a 14ish-way because some folks had some Wind Tunnel time booked. More later --quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Slowfaller 0 #10 May 30, 2004 Arlington Heights, IL-- Weather is taking a turn for the worse as northeast winds appear to be bringing a thunder storm system into the Chicagoland area. Protection, from the storms, can be found in an office building and boredom is cured by taking customer calls and fixing T1 alarms. 1230 AMcst I leave to spend time in Wisconson Dells for the weekend to celebrate my friends 21st birthday, can't wait! lewmonst 0 #12 May 30, 2004 Live from Elsinore: Otter load 38 is on a 10 minute call. The vertical challenge is goin on... wish I was in it but I'm sucking tandem video's today. Still camera is fritzing, sometimes shooting, sometimes not... missed a load to get new batteries... that wasn't the problem... put in a new tongue switch... STILL not the problem... GRRRR.... me thinks something is shorted in the socket to my bite switch...After I threw out the first set of batteries and the bite switch thinking they were the problem... then missed another jump because there's still a problem... now we're out of tandems. blah. But it's warm and sunny! peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
flyangel2 2 #13 May 30, 2004 Live from Loveland, Colorado. One son graduated from High School today I almost cut off my finger cutting veggies for the veggie tray. Didn't get to the ER for stitches, way too much to do to run to the hospital. Typing will be a pain for a few weeks Did you all get the record?May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. billvon 3,063 #14 May 30, 2004 >Did you all get the record? Nope, we never quite got the 16 people we would have needed to break it. On the plus side, though, me, Tony, Andy Delk and David turned 10 points on a 4-way in the tunnel. Which wouldn't have been that big a deal except that David alternated between head-down and sitflying on every transition.

diablopilot 2 #16 May 30, 2004 Live from my bedroom..... What a great day, shot a couple of tandem videos, put about 7 people up for their first wingsuit jumps, got in a great jump with atsaubry, fun 2 way with me on my back for half the skydive. Showed him what a "burble" is. Dis a couple of winguit jumps myself, and then finished up the day with a cross country, 2 stack on my 93 XAOS with Alex Alen on his 89 X-Fire, then mega swooped in to the swoop and chug, picked up my Diet Dr Pepper (I'm not drinking for a while) while in mid swoop and won the competition. Who says I'm not holding it down, representing the DZ.com.... Represent! I think the mega wingsuit rodeo will be first on the list tomorrow!---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. VivaHeadDown 0 #17 May 30, 2004 Live from the beach: Just got home from working in the tunnel today and I got to meet a lot of dotcommers. You guys are tunnel fiends! I think you could have paid off my education loans with the amount of tunnel time you did today. Maybe not that much, but everytime I turned around there was another one of you guys flying in the tunnel. And you guys don't fly all normal, no, you get hybrids turning points and people surfing on top of each other and you don't care if someone is a belly flyer or a free flyer or just a freak who has no idea how they want to fly, they're all there in the tunnel together! Sounds like a pretty cool world to live in actually. Keep promoting the harmony and unity in skydiving, and focus on what's truely important...beer. Goodnight and we'll play more tomorrow. Michele 1 #25 May 31, 2004 I am, sadly, sucking in Burbank. Woke up feeling mighty poorly, and it's only gotten worse as the day has progressed. I had hoped to get there today or tomorrow, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I wonder if I'll wake up with my head attached tomorrow? At the rate it's pounding, I am no longer sure of this...
