Good luck, Marz! What's the job? Just go in there and smile lots... be confident... and you'll kick ass.

((((((VIBES)))))))) :)

So it's a done deal. Loooong ass interview though, a good hour and a half. I guess that could be a good sign...

The job is for a position in Corporate Security for the Canadian Post Office. My only possible hiccup at this point is security clerance. They're asking for a "top secret" level and they'll be going back 20 years... I hope I don't have any skeletons in my closet that will come out and haunt me....

Cool!!! Good job, bud! Usually long interviews are a really good sign. ;) *crossing fingers for yah!* Sounds like a great job.

Sooooooooo... what are your skeletons?? Care to share for a good laugh?? Some cheap entertainment?? Huh? Huh? (or should I say "eh?" since it's Canada we're talking about?:D)

;)

let's just say that in 1990, I took up residence for approximately four months in a medical institution geared to the er.... rehabilitation of persons with a propensity to abuse mind altering substances...

It wasn't court ordered or anything but it was paid for by the provincial ministry of health, so I'm pretty sure it's gonna show up... I might have a few balck marks as a juvenile too. Nothing I got charged for, but I was definitely on the radar for a few years there...

I don't know if any of that stuff matters, really. They probably want to make sure that I have not ties to the middle-east or criminal organizations, etc... The shitty part is that they're probably going to grill my close friends. They did it to my wife when a friend of hers was going for clearance.

Canada post? Lived in BC for 3 years.
Hopefully they get the background check done
faster than they deliver mail ;)

Good luck!

BTW, with regard to your concern, hopefully it works the same way as it does in the states.
That type of thing falls under the heading of medical history and as such is private.

I am currenly undergoing a background check for a job myself. I also was hospitalized. In my case for alcoholism.
This will not show up in my background check because its medical history.
