windwalker101 0 #1 May 3, 2010 Looking for my first complete rig. I found a javelin c-21 here on drop zone, I'm 71.5'' 195 # Is this too large? I was told a master rigger could shorten the main lift web if it is too large. Any suggestions?

A C21 is too long. But as your rigger told you, it can be shortened.

A good approximation of required main lift web length is to take your height in inches, subtract your inseam measurement, and subtract 20" In my case I take 5'10 - 30.5" inseam (measured flat-footed to your pubic bone, not your pants inseam) - 20 = 19.5". Not coincidentally I have main lift webs in the 19-20" range which is long for my height - people double and triple check that they measured right. Call the manufacturer if it comes up right. Given the rig serial number and your measurements per their order form as if you were ordering a new rig they can tell you how close it is and what it would cost to modify if it's not close enough. windwalker101 0 #5 May 3, 2010 If I have the main lift web shortened to 2 inches is that the same as having a c19?
windwalker101 0 #6 May 3, 2010 Does too long mean unsafe or uncomfortable?
phoenixlpr 0 #7 May 3, 2010 Quotewill this container fit me? I don't think so. That harness might fit you. Why don't you trying on? Can you try it on by hanging from the cat-away rings? Anyway you might try some other gear too. MLW sizing is about the same.
