Kapowsin Hearing Scheduled

Keri Farrington reports:“Our friendly neighbors are bringing an injunction against us for breach of covenant. We are having a hearing on May 14th at 9:00 am in front of Judge Katherine Stolz at the Pierce County Superior Court,930 Tacoma Ave.S.,#110, Tacoma.

We were told that any support would be helpful. Any interested parties are welcome to come. Thank you for your support. Hope to see
you there.”

I spoke to Andy Farrington this morning, and according to him, the hearing is still on for tomorrow at 9AM.

I heard 140something, but the gist is the same. I additionally heard that there was no appeal available because the number was actually picked quite some time ago and the time allotted for appeal has passed (or something like that). In any case, that might just be the rumor mill running rampant. I'm sure we'll hear from the Farringtons when they've decided what their next step will be. They're good people and I'm sure they'll find a way to come out on top, even if it means moving to a new location.

If it was just about a business that's one thing, but this is their home. It was theirs long before Neighbor McNasty. It is absolute bullshit the way this has all come down.
I hope the Farringtons hop on here and tell the story so that the rumors can be kept to a minimum.

That stinks! Sorry to hear it happeneing to such nice people. If it were me....I'd go find a new place to live/have a DZ........then get the ultimate revenge. Sell off all that land and sub divide it into shanty trailer parks. Or maybe lease it for sewage spray fields......

I jumped Kapowsin once and really loved it there. The view is utterly fantastic and something to be experienced by all. The Farringtons are such nice people - it really is a shame they have such a loser to deal with. Hope this rumor ISN'T true.

Yes it does suck bad, not only a great DZ, but they are great people that put on the best little events. I really enjoy my time in Kapowsin. Hope they get this settled. The neighbor is a jackass that video's any exit just to make sure that no one touches a cloud. What an ass.

I was at the hearing, and live here full time.
The judge ruled that activity was to return to that of 1980. Which at somepoint it was recorded that there was 39 load in a three month time. As of now we are aloud 156 take off and landing per year. As of now there is no difference between a cesna load of 4 and and Otter load of 23. We are trying to make each load count, but as of now it is business as usual until further notice. As always if you show up they will get you in the air. We have put up cesna and Otter loads since the hearing. There is another hearing on June 11 to settle more detail of that ruling and hopefully get a reconsideration.

Long story short. The county and a few locals are trying to shut Kaposin Air Sports down because they have been too successful and grown too big. It seems they are making headway

The locals are just looking for a few answers, not to cause more trouble for Kaposwin. Thankfully Mr Crackers has provided a bit of infomation that doesn't seem damaging in the smallest way.

If you want to simply cause fights, or ill feelings, please don't take it out on those that are just trying to learn what is going on with this local DZ that is under attack buy a couple unhappy neighbors. I know a great deal about why Mr McNasty is doing this, as do many others. The people here are only trying to learn just a bit more about what is going on.

I'm really sorry if I hurt your feelings and will lose a lot of sleep over it.

As for Mr Crackers comments how do you what what impact his comments will have? Have you talked with Mcnasty?Or the DZO.

FWIW I Started jumping at Kapow around 1986 and know some of the History of the Mcnasty story. Not the editied abreviated one sided version.

My response was after you asked the same question twice and after I PM'd you.

IMO the issue is closed. Hope you have a long and enjoyable jumping career.

Of course an eyewitness account of the hearing is nothing secret, he's just trying to keep other things from being written that might hurt.
