What...you think they'll post them for free on-line?

Didn't you get the memo? Apparently video and stills a free now, cause we're all "one big happy family".

At least that's what Dom told me. Dubs (as many as needed) are free too.:P

Or he could just learn to fly the thing.

I see. Obviously I missed something.

Of course he could bring it down here, and I could try to show him how.

I mean I'd only load it at like 3.6..... yikes!

Just waiting for wingsuit guys to try to orchestrate a birdman suit that is intended to be landed sans parachute, with a BASE rig for a "reserve..."

In the interim, I'll be investing in biotech stocks that deal with orthopaedic rehab...:S

Uh, check out Robi's recent article on the front page of flybirdman don't think that'll happen :)

Though I did like the ideas that were put around about carving out a ice half pipe similar to luge (sp?) down a mountain slope..

I had the pleasure of sitting w/ Lugi a couple of years ago at Rantoul. He hinted around at this canopy. At the time his big plans were to deploy and dock w/ Fritz in freefall. He mentioned the weight and I beleive he said it was to get their fall rate together. Also we asked him where he started his hook on this canopy and he mention as either 1000-1200 ft AGL for a 270. He also mentioned no cypress because it WOULD fire in his hook. But this was a couple of years ago and I beleive I have burnt many brain cells since so my memory IS fogged:S:S

Ah bummer. As much as we can tell from that picture, he could be under a 170 Spectre:P

The super secret tiny vx is still a mystery.

Any photos?

(From USPA web site)
smallest known commercially available parachute is the Icarus VX 69.

That's not true.
The smalles is *imho* the german Blade 58.
Make it Clicky =>http://www.hipercanopies.de/
Also the german Demon 60 is smaller => http://www.myskyshop.com/catalog/index.php/language/en

See the thread about this in the swooping forum, the debate on the smallest production canopy rages on.

Never go to a DZ strip show.

Thinking small pays off for sky diver in Perris

RECORD: He lands safely using a 39-square-foot parachute - about a fourth the normal size.

12:33 AM PDT on Thursday, May 13, 2004

By NATHAN MAX / The Press-Enterprise

PERRIS - When daredevil sky diver Luis "Luigi" Cani was 4 years old, his mother stopped him moments before he planned to use a garbage bag as a parachute for a three-story dive out the family's apartment window.

The incident foreshadowed his future endeavors.

The 33-year-old Brazilian man set a new world record Wednesday morning at Perris Valley Skydiving Center when he successfully jumped and landed with a 39-square-foot parachute on his back. Cani's red- and white-striped chute was about a quarter of the size of the ones most experienced sky divers use.

"To a sky diver, that is unthinkable," said Cani's Go Fast! Sports teammate J.C. Colclasure. "It's hard to fathom that someone could land and live through it without breaking lots of limbs."

Cani, who stands 5-foot-6 and weighs 145 pounds, gracefully executed the jump with little trouble. Jumping from 7,000 feet, Cani appeared to be skiing on air as smoke emitted from two canisters he had taped to his shoes while he fell at a speed of 79 miles per hour. At 300 feet above the ground, he executed a heels-over-head flip, changed directions and landed safely on his feet to the cheers of about a dozen onlookers.

"I was very surprised that I was able to stand up that easily," Cani said. "There was a big potential for the canopy to collapse if I hit the brakes a little too much. Then I would have just fallen from 300 feet."

Cani, a native of Curitiba, Brazil, broke his own record, having previously jumped using a 46-square-foot parachute. He said he doesn't expect to attempt a sky-dive with a smaller parachute because it wouldn't be safe.

Wednesday's successful jump was the latest in a series of stunts by Cani, who has landed on top of a mountain in France, on top of a truck that was traveling 50 miles per hour in Brazil and on a moving boat, also in Brazil. Cani, who said he alternates between sky diving full time and working in sports marketing in Brazil, also holds the South American free-fall speed record, 309 miles per hour.

The world free-fall record is 326 miles per hour, and Cani said he hopes to go after it in the near future.

"It's just like any job, you want to do better and move forward," Cani said. "In extreme sports, to do that, you need to push the limits."

Last week? Yes...Some not so pleasant person hacked into one of my email accounts and unloaded a few million pieces of spam before the ISP shut my account down. The 7.5 million bounces was a good indication. The fun part was this kindly person left a few finger prints when they got in at the ISP. My ISP (owned by former Airborne dude) provided me said fingerprints. Let's just say that I had a little bit of fun once I got past the dudes firewall... :P
