I love Target clothes!

Recommended Posts

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love shopping at Target for my apparel! Sure, I've been in the fancy shmancy stores in/around Chicago, and I've tried on those $1000 shirts, but they didn't come with a unicorn, so I've never bought them.

Target clothes rock! They tend to hold up pretty well. They have reversible dresses. They also have shorts which actually fit me! I haven't bought shorts in years (because I can't find Umbros anywhere anymore), and girl shorts tend to be made with the idea that I have a much smaller ass than I actually do. Target has stepped up and realized that just because my waist is small, my butt isn't!

I just thought I'd give everyone out there my tip of the day: shop at Target for your clothes! They're cheap but good!

Target has soooo much of my money! I go in for $5 item and come out spending over $50! :S I have bought a lot of their clothes for both the kids and myself. The only thing that bothers me is the shrinkage factor in their cotton shirts, especially the Marona brand. Even on low heat in the dryer, they end up getting too short for me. The Cherokee brand doesn't seem to do it as badly.

I found my favorite summer shirts at Old Navy. They have some "perfect fit" t-shirts in crew and v-neck in a variety of colors. The best thing is that they're 2 for $18. They are really holding up well in the wash too.

I am also addicted to Target for cloths. I like how most of their cloths go with 4 or 5 things. Pants, shorts, ls shirts, t-shirts, capri's. You can mix and match like crazy.

Being Canadian we don't have Target up here but I was just in Boise for a wedding and I FINALLY got to shop there.

Had the bride not been in a hurry to get wedding stuff done, I could have spent a whole lot more!

I "HEART" Target too! B|

Send them up here!

Let me share a little secret. Manufacturing companies that design and manufacture clothing for mid-tier companies, design for the Target customer, also. Design companies design/manufacture for many VASTLY different department and specialty (private label) stores. In the apparel industry, depending on your market, design houses usually send new designs EVERY DAY to various clients/companies on top of designing for market each month. As a designer, you soon realize that with each season's important fads...there is only so much (design-wise) that can be done to stay within a particular company's price points if the price points are limited, such as would be the case with Target. Sometimes, there are only slight variations design-wise on what other (nicer) stores have in terms of design/style.

The main difference in each clothing line for each vendor (Target) across the country are the clothing colors, themes and fabrics. These vary per client (vary greatly each season, of course) and are usually set by the clients, not us. (Sometimes, they go with our lines, though, of course, and sell our lines in their shops with our lables...if we are better known apparel houses.) The client's (Target, etc.) specs (specifications in measurements per length/width, etc. per clothing item) are also the main difference in the clothing.

Specs are determined by the client's customer size/shape and the preferred fit of their garments. Some companies go with our particular specs and put their label into our designs. Many fashion houses are unknown to the public by their industry names because we cater to private label companies that are very well-known.

Personally, I have never designed for Target, but I have to say that I wouldn't be TOTALLY against it, like I used to be. Since our economy is in the state that it's in, many people are frugal with their money nowadays. So...don't feel so bad about liking Target clothing. The same designers that may be designing/manufacturing for stores that are considered nicer and better quality may be designing your Target clothing. :P

I, myself, do not shop for clothing at Target (just not for me...and doesn't fit my body type), but I LOVE to buy my summer, straw handbags at TARGET! Once, I even admitted that I LOVE Target for my summer bags to fellow designers at work, and they either came out of the Target closet or began to shop for their straw summer bags there, as well. :)

I love Target, too. I have a ton of the Mossimo v-neck baby Ts in white and black. They look so cute with pants, tennis skirts, shorts and jeans. Plus, with my Target super-padded, practically bullet-proof bra, my boobies look bigger. :$ This thread is in the Women's Only section, isn't it? Shit, not so much. ;)

If you run (or some other active, high impact sport), you should check out their athletic clothes.

They have a line, Pro-Spirit, which rivals the fancy schmancy running store clothes. They're made of CoolMax, just like the expensive stuff. They come in lots of different designs, in fun bright colors, just like the expensive stuff. The only complaint I've heard from runners is that the bras don't offer enought support for large-breasted women. But that's not me.

At about 10-15 dollars per item, I can splurge and get a couple of new outfits every season, and spend only about 1/3rd what I'd pay in the running store!

I love Target!!!

I like to buy boyshorts/cami's to sleep in....and Skymedic doesn't seem to object ;):P

I also have purchased several pants and tops and skirts that I wear to work. I love that I don't have to worry about getting chalk or marker all over them becuase they weren't terribly expensive.
