RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 May 5, 2004 I've been asked for the past month "so do you have a departure date set?" and my response is "no and I don't know"...but now I know. May 15 and 16 my brother and dad are helping me load up the UHaul and head south. So, this weekend is officially my last weekend to hang out at MileHi. I will miss everyone more than you know. I have had the best experience with the JMs, TMs, and fun jumpers reaching out to me to help me become a better skydiver and most importantly, making me feel like I belong. I've been dragging my feet on the move because I wanted to have a job in place and closure on some personal things first. But I realize that it's costing me a fortune to wait for closure; that I just need to GO! and be there. Plus, the potential employers have said that I'm their top candidate, but "you're not here yet". My future is such a mystery. I'm excited, yet scared about what's ahead. It is so emotional for me to look back on 19 years in Colorado and all that I've experienced with my education, with work, with relationships...it's time for me to start a new exciting chapter in my life. _________________________________________
ladyskydiver 0 #2 May 5, 2004 Good luck and enjoy the adventure. It's tough to leave with no job in place and nothing set, but it will amaze you at how much you will learn about yourself. You've got people here you can lean on and vent to whenever you need to. Best of wishes for the drive and good luck with the job prospect.Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
lawrocket 3 #3 May 5, 2004 Take it from someone who last year gave up everything and relocated - I can't think of anything but total excitement for you! How wonderful it is for you to follow your heart and mind. Cheers to you, and kick butt! My wife is hotter than your wife.

mailin 0 #5 May 5, 2004 Wow! I am so envious of you. I'm dying to do this myself, but like you've expressed, want to 'tie up' personal stuff - which can take forever... I don't know if I'll ever do it The cost of living in new england is choking me! I need to get to Arizona.... ya, Arizona JenArianna Frances

flyangel2 2 #9 May 5, 2004 You'll do fine. You have an outgoing enough personality that you'll be welcomed where ever you end up at. Sorry I didn't get a chance to jump with you out at Mile Hi. But hey, now that you'll be in Florida, the chances are greater that we'll do a jump together. Funny how that works out. Good Luck.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. lifewithoutanet 0 #10 May 5, 2004 Colorado is a tough place to leave, but 19 years is a long time. Best of luck to you in all you do. Colorado will always be there (as opposed to California, which is expected to slip into the Pacific sometime between now and Sept 5th). Congrats on your move and Blue Skies wherever you land. -C. Paige 0 #13 May 6, 2004 I'll be movin to FL in June for some of the same reasons. Change in life, closure for personal things that will never come, etc. Where in FL? Maybe we can jump together sometime to celebrate our liberation from our lives. Oh, and we can start over and live them according to our termsTunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
RkyMtnHigh 0 #14 May 6, 2004 Paige, that'd be awesome! I look forward to our liberation jump. The job opportunities seem to keep popping up in the Jacksonville area, so it may be there or who knows, I'm flexible at this point. _________________________________________

But I know you'll still be here on DZ.COM and no doubt we will run into each other at some other DZ. Good luck with your dreams ... Amazon 7 #19 May 6, 2004 QuoteThe job opportunities seem to keep popping up in the Jacksonville area, so it may be there or who knows, I'm flexible at this point WAY too kewl i have an Aunt and cousins who live out at Jax Beach.. its not THAT far from there down to Palatka... where my Mom was born... or a bit further to Deland. JAX is a vibrant community.. not too horribly big and the traffic does not TOTALLY suck like other places in FL. I visit them and do some relative work every few years...but I usually only go in the winter when living right on the beach is not a real plus...BRRRR the water at Christmas is cold there even if I have lived here in the Pacific NorthWET for 20+ years.
