Looking to downsize, and looking for an opinion.

Recommended Posts

Hey ya'll. I am looking to downsize from my sabre 2 170. I have three hundred jumps, and would like to go down to a 150. At 170 lbs out the door I am barely loading my canopy 1:1 I'm not getting the performance that I want.

I would love to get a sabre 2 150 however I can't afford a new one, and trying to find a used one is very difficult.

I also have scoliosis (curviture of the spine) and I lean to the left in my harness. So, getting a canopy that is very touchy on opening (spinetto) is not something I want to be experimenting with.

So my question for all of you is... what do you suggest?
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

I suggest that you review this document (22 pages of PDF).

To start ignore the chart at the beginning and get to the section titled Essential Maneuvers

If you can do all of this then you are starting to get performance out of your current canopy. :)

To the OP:

I really hope that you will seek the advise of trusted instructors and mentors, to whom you can speak in person. Usually, the advise in this forum is pretty good, but sometimes it is not.
