Malfunction 0 #1 April 26, 2004 Do you remember the day you started in this sport? Do you remember where you were, the first people you jumped with, the aircraft, the canopy? 7 years ago (as of April 29) I started skydiving. It was a chili, overcast day in Iowa, low winds. I jumped out of a 182 from 3500 feet. Not only was it my first jump, but also my first plane ride. I jumped a Manta 220, took 3 jumps and I knew I was hooked. Wow... 7 years. I know that for a lot of people, 7 years is nothing, but milestones don't happen all the time, and it calls for a bit of reflection. $12,000.00+ in that time spent jumping/gear/reserve repacks $500.00+ in "Firsts" while at the DZ $800.00+ in gas going to and from the dropzones $500.00+ in boogie registrations $1500.00 earned in packing I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it. - Voltaire
Adrenaline16 0 #2 April 27, 2004 My first jump was a month after my 16th birthday, it was a tandem out of a cessna 182 at 10 000 feet. It was also my first time on a plane ride. The next year i came back to do a student jump at 3500 at the same place, on mai 19 2003 on a pelican 284. It was an amazing day, i met a bunch of cool people, especially this one guy that i'll never forget, who made my day even greater. When i landed everything was blurry and i was lost in everything, i've been skydiving regularly since
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
