Tattoos? skydiving themed

Hey guys!
This summer I am thinking about getting a tattoo in honor of my love for skydiving. I want to get something related to skydiving/themed skydiving. Those of you who have similiar tattoos, what did you get? Have any suggestions?

Yes and definitely do as you were advised. Do a search there is a thread around here somewhere that covers this topic. Definitely look it up and read it.

Well I've kind of been thinking about getting a tat of a closing pin on my back, right were it would be if I had a rig on.

Douwanto has flaps, bridal, and closing pin on the small of his back. Looks nice. Another on our DZ is three rings on the front of each shoulder and it looks like skin is streched over them for the webbing.

Good skydiver friend had his favorite eight-way jump tattood on his thigh (along with a LOT of other tattoos)
You could recognize the people in the formation.
But you have to have big muscular thighs for an eight-way. Maybe start with a two way?

Tattoos are great, but just make sure that whatever you get is something you really want. I agree with the other person who said wait till you get some more jumps in before getting one. Whatever you decide personalize it to fit your style and if you are unsure then check out your local tattoo parlors. Have one of them sketch a few designs out. Personally I like the closing pin.

one of the most amazing tattos I've seen (suprising too) was the first day I walked on the DZ at Mile-Hi Skydiving in Longmont, CO.

There was a guy packing who had tattooed a HUGE Skydive Elsinore logo on his back! Needless to say I was taken back as I designed the logo in the first place and out of all the curious places to put one of my logos... this took the cake...

If anyone knows how to find this guy... I'd love to have a photo!

He also has ground landmarks in his tat, recognizable just like from the air for those who jump at Raeford. Cool tat.

Hey- it is a small world,

I know a couple of skydivers with your avitar in color tattooed on their ankles. I duplicated the cartoon for them and felt guilty as did not know the original artists name. Have seen a collection of these cartoons over the years(in Skydiving Mag.)and just luv them----but never a name of the artist.

Hoping you or someone reading would know.

I have a buddy who has the Great Melinko tattooed on his chest!! Thats a clown from a band called Insane Clown Posse. Bad high school mistake. lol. Dumb A**

I would like to know that myself . . . I use it as my avatar.

I found it on an old t-shirt from Lake Wales as well.

There also exists a helmet-less free faller and a camera flyer by the same artist.

I saw cartoons on their website (Lake Wales) and in their adverts years ago(Skydiving Mag) - so tried many times thru email to find out name of artist and this = no reply.
Also calodain(sp??) graphics replied saying they had tried for years to get permission to use cartoons for t-shirts =no reply. Do not think their company is open now.

Anyway- they are priceless

I luv the guy running to aircraft in teva's & gear (from the back), 2 dudes giving a '5' after landing in gear with canopies on the ground- 3 in freefall with camera man- and of course your avatar.

I also have slotperfect's avitar on my left outer calf. I saw it in magazines as well and needed to have it. I also would like to know the artist to see if he/she has a headown character to add to my body somewhere.

Something i have thought about getting, though most people would not know it is skydiving related is the Mirage alien....just looks like that would make a badass tattoo!!
