"new" wheels

Recommended Posts

I'm buying a new-to-me car today. :)
My van (or as I like to call it - "the worst purchasing decision I've ever made") is a total piece of crap; after dumping over $1000 into it I still can't trust it outside the city of Sebastian. This will not do.

One of the guys at the dz has a '94 Toyota Tercel for sale at a real good price. He says he wouldn't sell it to someone he knows if he wasn't sure it's reliable. Clean inside and out, cold AC, four speed manual, two new tires, and it even has a CD player. And it's a Toyota - so it's likely to still be running when the body is rusting off.

A reliable vehicle may not be a big deal to most people... but knowing that by this time tomorrow I'll have a car in my driveway that I can get in and go just about anyplace with makes me very happy.

Taking a few days off in a couple weeks. So now I have to decide where I want to go. :)

I previously owned 2 Tercels. I had a '94 from '95-'98. I then bought a '97 that I put about 85K miles on. I just sold it a few months ago. Both cars were so reliable, inexpensive to maintain, and got great gas mileage. Toyotas also hold their value pretty well.

Hope your new-to-you car treats you well! B|

you should come to ZHills for stacy-palooza may 22 weekend.

Weekends are out; I'm stuck here pretty much every weekend until Rantoul. :(

I get Monday - Wednesday May 3-5th off though. Cuz Cinco de Mayo is my birthday; I can't work on my birthday. ;) B|

Click and Clack (NPR's "Car Talk" Guys)

Were asked this question:
When is it time to buy a new car?

The answer: When you no longer feel safe to drive it on a road trip.

So it sounds like you did the right thing.

Now I buy new cars cause I want something new...not really smart, but fun.

I'm glad to hear that you are getting a better piece of transpo Lisa. Would you like to borrow my .308 to shoot that van? The least you can do is get some satisfaction of putting that thing out of its misery! Tercel is suppose to be good little cars. Wishing you the very best-Caress:)

I guess this means you don't want the Bear??

I'll always want the Bear, but she's too sweet to be used as a grocery getter. I'd be afraid to let her out of my sight for fear I'd have to kill the person who let the cart loose in the parking lot...

Lisa, congrats on the new (to you) car!!! I know that van gave you some headaches!

I was thinking about this today....my dream car, what would it be? I want something old, like an old mustang, but all pimped out. Wonder how long it'll be before I can do that?

I'd settle for pimping out my new (to me) rig...hopefully soon!! ;)

Now take your ride somewhere awesome and have fun!!!!!!!!!

Me, too...especially now that it's getting a new coat. A total off frame restoration - so far over $8000 and it's not even in primer yet, but it's gonna look soooo cool....Mother of Pearl White with Ice Blue Flames...God, I can't wait....
