skybytch 273 #1 April 19, 2004 I'm buying a new-to-me car today. My van (or as I like to call it - "the worst purchasing decision I've ever made") is a total piece of crap; after dumping over $1000 into it I still can't trust it outside the city of Sebastian. This will not do. One of the guys at the dz has a '94 Toyota Tercel for sale at a real good price. He says he wouldn't sell it to someone he knows if he wasn't sure it's reliable. Clean inside and out, cold AC, four speed manual, two new tires, and it even has a CD player. And it's a Toyota - so it's likely to still be running when the body is rusting off. A reliable vehicle may not be a big deal to most people... but knowing that by this time tomorrow I'll have a car in my driveway that I can get in and go just about anyplace with makes me very happy. Taking a few days off in a couple weeks. So now I have to decide where I want to go.
 bkdice 0 #3 April 19, 2004 I previously owned 2 Tercels. I had a '94 from '95-'98. I then bought a '97 that I put about 85K miles on. I just sold it a few months ago. Both cars were so reliable, inexpensive to maintain, and got great gas mileage. Toyotas also hold their value pretty well. Hope your new-to-you car treats you well!
