Ideal travel destination

Recommended Posts

Alright well i'm in Year 12 this year (last year of high school in Australia) and I'm thinking of taking a year off next year to travel since I really don't have any idea what I wanna do at Uni.

I was hoping for the destination idea's since alot of people here seem to be rather well travelled. So be greatest place you've ever been to? Places you didn't enjoy particularly?
Thanks B|

Munich Germany is a really fun place, I was only there for 3 days and then took a train to Amsterdam for another 3 days. If I would have had more time I would have loved to spend more time in germany and also would have liked to see more of the Netherlands. Several friends of mine have spent months in Germany and loved it.

I didn't really warm up to the city of Amsterdam until the last day I was there, just stay away from the "White Widdow" or you'll find yourself in a coffee shop playing w/ a penny for several hours;)

Chris

PS. I noticed the redundency(sp?) of this post and didn't bother to edit. Working 8pm-8am after being used to days turns me into a zombie around this time.

================================ Sure it ain't some of that white widdow stuff you brought home. ==================================== Actually the Phillipines is a really cool place. Just don't hang out w/ the Red Budda to long.

Find Margaritaville, and report back on it's location. :P

You have to do the Spain experience, but I'd say save that for a semester of study abroad (exchange student).

Places to visit, well, IMO London sucked and was over priced, but visiting for a day or two is a requisite for world traveller status. Edinburgh was a great town, loved my time there. One place I haven't been and still want to get to is southern Germany and Austria. Any warm island is obviously worth a visit.

My one suggestion for any foreign travel destination is try to know someone there before you get there. It avoids tourist problems and gets you into the flow much quicker.
