RkyMtnHigh 0 #1 April 13, 2004 Help! I'm in process of developing my road trip from Colorado to Florida and here's what I've come up with based on dropzones along the way: Farewell Jump at MileHi in Longmont; then I-76 to I-80 through Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa (any dz's there?), straight into Ottawa to visit friends at Skydive Chicago. From there, I'm looking at I-65 south through Indianapolis and Louisville KY, continue I-65 south through Nashville, TN. Take a detour to I-24 to Atlanta then I-20 to Birmingham, AL, stop in at Bama Skydive Center, then 65 South to Mobile to visit the folks...and of course, while I'm there I'll stop in at Gold Coast in Moss Point. From Mobile, I'll take I-10 East towards Tallahassee, Jacksonville, then 95 South, then 4 to Deland, Orlando, then Sebastian and Zhills, then further south towards West Palm Beach and SoBe. Any ideas or diversions from my trip that I need to consider? or better routes? I'm really looking forward to the new adventure I have ahead and opening the new chapter in my life! _________________________________________

CapWeathersby 0 #3 April 13, 2004 You should stop by Skydive Atlanta or Skydive Monroe on your way through Atlanta. ________________________________ "Try not to become a man of success but rather to become a man of value."

PhreeZone 20 #5 April 13, 2004 At Indy take 70 east and you can hit Richmond, then go another hour till you hit 75 south and SGC is only 35 minutes off the path. 75 runs all the way to Atlanta or Flordia (done the drive 2 times in a year already ) Lets you hit two more cool DZ's Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AggieDave 6 #6 April 13, 2004 You could take it further south, come through SD Dallas, Aggieland and Houston then hit I-10 to go out.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

PhreeZone 20 #12 April 13, 2004 Not sure about Richmond this year but SGC has a Super Otter currently and the Casa is coming back soon. SGC has showers, couches to crash on and the other things needed to crash at a DZ for a few days. We are currently flying weekends mainly, but Friday and Wednesday afternoon flights are starting up too. PM me if you need more details.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

WingnutOrange 0 #15 April 13, 2004 Sure, come to Skydive Orange in Orange, VA. Everyone is welcome; we have a super otter and a 182. The people are great and so is the jumping. Everyone usually hangs out together after sunset load. It's a real hoot after dark. Couches to crash on, spare bed in the loft. If you take I-95 south from northern virginia down to exit 130-B, take route 3 west until you reach route 20 south(there's a sheetz gas station right there), hang a left, and the airport will be about 20-25 miles down the road on your right. Or come in from I-66 headed east, get on route 29 south, take route 522 south, turn right onto route 20 south, and the airport is about 4 miles down on the right. Hope you have a wonderful trip! Chiquita 14 #16 April 13, 2004 The only places that I have jumped on your journey are in GA, Emerald Coast in AL, and a few in FL. In GA I would definitely stop by Skydive the Farm, it a new dz on private property that is beautiful, plus (as long as you don't mind) $10 jumps for women I have not been to Emerald Coast in a few years, but the 2 times I was there I loved it. They usually do a boogie Memorial w/e with beach jumps. One of my favorite jumps is a sunset beach jump done there. As far as FL goes I have only been to 3 dzs and I liked all 3. Don't really know much about any of the ones down there. Anyway, just my 2 cents and maybe a little more. skymama 37 #18 April 13, 2004 You'll have all the turbines you could possibly want once you get to FL. You'll be like a kid in a candy store! So, don't worry so much about what planes these other dz's will have along the way. Just go, and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun no matter what you jump out of. TheAnvil 0 #19 April 13, 2004 Hmmmm....some of these suggestions are pretty good. I would suggest stopping off at a liquor store in every state, purchase a different brand of tequila in each, then drop off all of the FULL, unopened bottles at La Casa del Vinny in Jacksonville. Lemme know when you get to DeLand and I'll waddle down there for a jump or two... Vinny the Anvil Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! shmali 0 #20 April 13, 2004 Would definitely recommend hitting SKydive Atlanta (we've got a beautiful and fast King Air) Always a great place to just come and hang out. Also if you're going south 95 i would also recommend hitting up Skydive Space center. Was over there last week and all i can say is wow. Very friendly people and the view is unique (ohh look its the shuttle launch pads and hanger etc...) But that's just my 2cents. Pineappe Death Juice, If you have to ask you'd rather not know! Kennedy 0 #24 April 13, 2004 Don't you just love some of these ideas? "Forget the plan, forget your folks, and come this way. It'll only add 10 to 15 hours to the trip." I liked you original plan. My only suggestion is call up the kitty (chaos, not porn) and see about something in Tenn. PM me about when you plan on stopping at Cullman. Maybe we can hang out and make up for GCS MG.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
