mxracer194 0 #1 July 10, 2010 Are all new and custom made canopies test flown before going out to the customer? Every new canopy (reserves too) has at least one flight before it gets to you, right? To make sure its ok.

Wouldnt hurt to ask him if he can show you what they look for."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
PhreeZone 20 #4 July 10, 2010 Canopies go from the sewing floor right to the inspector and then to shipping. They never make it to a DZ Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

RiggerLee 61 #7 July 10, 2010 Yes we're makeing fun of you but it is a vallid question. There are often problems in a canopy that you will not discover till your first jump on it. The bad news s that there are things that can not be found on the ground in an inspection. Some canoies were famous for it. Ravens and Tempos are good examples. They both came in two versions R's and L's depending on which turn was built into the canopy. Some times you would get a defective one that was nutral. Some times the turns would be severe. Bad enough to make flying and landing it a chalange. Manufactering has gotten better but the first jump on any canopy has the potental to be... interesting. Got a problem with that? Take up golf. mxracer194 0 #9 July 10, 2010 I was only curious. I'll never know about these things unless I ask. Its not a concern, it's just plain curiosity. You didn't always have this information either.

Nothing wrong with your question. Some people just like to give wise ass arrogant answers to make themselves feel superior and inflate their ego even more. Bad enough to make flying and landing it a challenge. .." ...................................................................... Funny! ... but your experience with Tempos differs radically from mine. I have packed hundreds of Tempo reserves, but only heard one customer complain ... mind you ... he also complained about his student main canopy turning and his adjustable MLWs had 4 inches difference!
