cocheese 0 #1 April 7, 2004 Does your drop zone party down or not when the sun goes down ? Have a bon fire ? Group dinners etc. ?Seems like some do and some don't. Is this a factor to your dz decision ?

Vallerina 2 #11 April 7, 2004 My old home dz...I didn't stick around much for the parties afterwards. We would go out to dinner, but it usually ended up with the jumpers coming over by Purdue to party (no dz party has ever been able to beat the fun had at IU/Wabash/Purdue! ) Hinckley has a great after hours scene. Zhills probably had one of the best after hours scenes of any dz (besides WFFC) I've ever been to. I'm not sure if many dzs really party, though. From what I've seen, it's usually just people hanging out and drinking. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Shotgun 1 #13 April 7, 2004 Quotefirst jump in Steve Van Buren's Hughes 296C helicopter Steve has a helicopter now??? Hmm, I may have to go back and visit you guys... I could sure use some of that good BBQ too... Perris has been known to party pretty hard when the sun goes down... There's a full bar on the dz, and a swimming pool... Bonfires are fairly common, and for certain parties they'll have a live band or a dj with a dance floor set up... Hmm, sometimes Perris is a bit too much fun actually... San Marcos was a lot of fun too (my home dz)... it's a different vibe from Perris, but very laid-back and cool... (How could you not have a good time with Captain Loud around?) bkdice 0 #16 April 7, 2004 Our DZ (Skydive Virginia) does. We're fun! We have bonfires (except in the middle of the summer) and group dinners. We either cookout or go out as a group. Then theres drinking, music, lots of talking, often some stupid human tricks, and usually some boobies shown at some point. It's a good time. Since my DZ isn't very big - everyone hangs out together. NOT clicky AT ALL. Pretty much everyone does their part to make it so awesome - whether its getting wood for the fire, buying groceries for the cookout, cooking all the food, or making sure there is plenty of beer. skybytch 273 #17 April 7, 2004 QuoteHmm, sometimes Perris is a bit too much fun actually... Umm yeah. What she said. From what I've heard anyway. I wouldn't have any first hand knowledge of said activities. I'm a good girl. Sebastian is... well generally it's not a big party-at-the-dz kind of dz; seems like most of the locals go party elsewhere after having a beer or two at the Zoo bar. I have seen it rocking hard on a few Saturday nights since I've been here though - and I can tell you that when Wendy says there's gonna be a party at Sebastian... there's gonna be a party at Sebastian and you are so missing out if you aren't here for it. skyyhi 0 #18 April 7, 2004 QuoteFrom the scale 1 - 10: I rate a 6. Hmmm, I don't know where you have been but nearly every Saturday night there is at least a small party. I am almost always there on Saturday nights and very few times have I not been partying with at least 10 people. . .not always loud and boisterous parties but always something. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
chuckakers 426 #19 April 7, 2004 Quote Does your drop zone party down or not when the sun goes down ? Have a bon fire ? Group dinners etc. ? Although it's no longer open, Skydive USA (Houston area) was probably one of THE most after hours DZ's in the history of the sport. I remember a visiting jumper saw some guys carrying in the party supplies one evening and asked what special event we were getting ready for. "Sunset" I said. If you want to revisit the Skydive USA party experience, might I suggest you come to the SUSA Reunion Boogie, June 24 - 27 at Skydive Spaceland! We are planning an outrageous party Saturday night! Paige 0 #20 April 7, 2004 At best our parties are tame with a little craziness. People think I party and drink way too much so I think I'm the one kickin the parties out. For Halloween I brought some college kids wanting to jump, a keg, and drunken Jenga (I added dirty things you would have to do when you pulled a block out). Needless to say that was a fun party and many were in attendance for the mayhem. You can always have people to casually drink with or get wasted if they are up to it. No huge bangin parties though. It's a good balance if you ask me. The roudyness usually happen bowling, at the bars, etc.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

Snowbird 0 #25 April 7, 2004 I'm not a big partier, so ours are just about right. But our group dinners kick ass! This last Saturday we did deep-fried turkey with all the trimmings and dessert. We're planning a lasagna bake-off. Lots of potluck style. We eat good at OSA. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A.
