skygazer 0 #1 April 7, 2004 First of all, this is not a political posting in any way. It's just this...I was watching the news this morning and taking in the loss of yet more Chicago area soldiers in Iraq, I just wanted to put out a God Bless and a thank you to you brave folks down there (and everywhere in our Armed Services). I bitched yesterday about having a lousy day at work and immediately felt very small hearing what a REALLY bad day is about while watching latest news reports. Thanks to all of you for making me appreciate once again the blessings I enjoy; home, work, loved ones and a cool hobby. Your in my prayers every single day. Stay safe! We love ya's._______________________________________
Rebecca 0 #3 April 7, 2004 Thanks for posting that, skygazer. I was thinking the same thing. Thanks to all who are serving (or have served) our country, especially those in combat/dangerous situations. My prayers are with each and every one of you to stay safe, complete your missions and come home to us. May all of our fallen be at peace.
skygazer 0 #4 April 7, 2004 Wish there was something we could do here at home to help our soldiers. Any of our fellow dz.com folks out there in service: is there anything we can do? Care packages? Something from home? Your wish is our command!_______________________________________

"Any Servicemember" letters/care pkgs are verboten since the Anthrax letters...
napaguy99 0 #6 April 7, 2004 QuoteAny of our fellow dz.com folks out there in service: is there anything we can do? Buy me jump tickets! J/K. As was mentioned, send donations to the Red Cross or even better the Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society. If you want to send a care package to a person in the military you know, we always appreciate them. If you see a sailor/soldier/airman, say a few kind words and let him/her know that you appreciate what we are doing. If you really want to make a difference, sign yourself up. And don't forget, vote REPUBLICAN!!! "Let the misinterpretation and attacks begin."

Personally, this post was all I needed. Of course, soldiers/sailors/airman/marines always love those care packages. Thanks again.
