Yeah, the banana in the lady pic might put some people off... :P:D
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

:D Yep, I didn't scroll down to see it. It was brought to my attention by an attentive and illustrious dz.commer

It's those freakin' French again!!

If they're not inventing weird winged suits for jumping out of planes with, or hanging on the back of buses with skates on, they're figuring out new ways to use PLFs off buildings and bridges!!

Wish my body would let me do some of the things inthat video......[:/]

That's a great commercial. Isn't this a uniquely Parisian thing??
Pretty incredible stuff. Think I'll stick to skydiving.

It looks like an evolution of building climbing and jumping that was a big thing at Cambridge University from the 1890s to the present day. Google on "Whipplesnaith" for lots of details.

They're called Le Parkour (the urban gymnasts).

You're right - it's so incredible.

Did you see the Nike spot for Presto called "Le poulet en couler" (Angry Chicken) ?

A chicken chases a gymnast around buildings. Very cool.

le poulet en colère (that's angry...)

check www.luc-besson.com/fr/films/yamakasi
might be some fun footage there too...

"I think the BBC had a TV ad with that guy last year... I'm sure the brits could confirm.... "

Brit checking to confirm...
Yep the BBC ran a few ads with David Belle doing some spectacular stuff, things got so popular that Channel 4 ran a full programme called "Jump London", it was way cool.
We call it "free running" over here.
Google for free running, urban freeflow, jump london, Parkeur, David Belle, etc

http://www.urbanfreeflow.com/UrbanFreeFlow/urbangraffiti.htm for some video and pics.

There's a very cool French movie called "Yamakazi" that was made with some of the first kids to do this sort of stuff in France. The story is kinda lame, but the actual action shots are very cool. It might be hard to get in the US but I got it in Quebec.

The whole principle behind this street gymanstics thing in "the art of movement". It can be climbing, jumping, running, etc. What's neat in Yamakazi is that each of the caracters has his own unique set of skills, although they can do it all.

"movies by Besson always have incredible action..."
