I had a very hard opening during the Mardi Gras boogie, and I had serious pain in my back for several weeks. I haven't jumped since then to give it time to heal...and it's feeling OK now, so time to get back in the air. The chiropractor told me it must be muscle damage(after taking xrays to check), but was worried that one of the discs may be a bit out of alignment...but apparently that's not the case since the pain diminished. I got spanked by a Sabre2...the second hardest opening I've ever had in my life...the first was back in '95.....when a Sabre broke two ribs on opening.. Girlfalldown 0 #31 April 6, 2004 I went to see my Chiropractor yesterday after work and it looks like the rib in my chest is out and the cartilage, tendons and ligaments that hold it all together are torn and twisted..guh.. he can't touch the rib for at least a few days until the swelling goes down and the pain subsides a bit. It's sticking up about an inch more than the others. Looks kinda funny. I didn't even realize it was out in the back and he adjusted that and the rest of my back (which was quite out of wack itself) It feels a bit better today. Looks like the force of my neck whipping forward also might have tore up some of the scar tissue in my neck from surgery last year and oddly enough that's actually a good thing! Anyway he said most likely I'll be out for at least 4 weeks and up to 8 depending on how my body heals. Ah well guess I'll save some money up and buy something cool... Maybe some new gear! Haven't taken a weekend off from jumping in a long time. This is going to be weird. What should I do? -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.) I guess I didn't pull out my slider correctly... all I remember was I pulled, heard my neck crack, and the canopy was open..., had black spots everywhere in my sight, checked if I could move all my body, closed the slider, unstowed the breaks, control check and down for landing... the black spots stayed there for about 20 seconds.
