skyyhi 0 #1 March 29, 2004 Okay, so many of you know my roommate is moving out. I could get another roommate but it would be better if I could actually afford to live there on my own, whether or not I had a roommate. So I decided to post my resume on Monster.com on Friday and already have 3 interviews lined up. . .at the money I want to make. Dang, I didn't use this before but I will now recommend it to EVERYONE. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
Lee03 0 #2 March 29, 2004 Glad you had a good experience with them. They never did a damn thing for me. I posted resume there and never heard shit from them. no interviews, nothing! I'm not at all impressed with them. Sorry but I will have to disagree with you here, i wouldn't recommend them to anybody! All I got, and still get from them is their spam in my mailbox, telling me how great they are, how much they will do for me. BullSxxx! IMHO, they are a fraud! Sorry, guess experience with something molds one's opinion of it. You, good experience, see them as great, would recommend them, me, bad experience, see them as anything but great. would not recommend them to anybody. Sorry. skyyhi 0 #4 March 29, 2004 One thing I will say. . .I didn't fill in their resume form. I posted my own word format resume. . .and then went through the process to make it searchable by employers. That is the key. . .making it searchable. It took quite a while to get it all set up, but once I was done, I just kept getting hits on it. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

Amen Job boards generally don't make jobs, they just post them. Right after school when IT was hot I got several hits based off of the boards...even cold calls from a Big 5 consulting company based off my personal website that had my resume on it. For the last few months until today I've been in the market again, and I got zilch this time from the boards. I'm starting to really believe that bit about career networking. I've heard 50% offhand as the portion of jobs that are filled by referral before they ever get posted to the public.... It's been 2 / 3 for me. nathanielMy advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
