Made my first jump at Skydive Richmond today. Awesome coach dive with Don "Brew" Brewer. Jason Yasuda lurked us and did some freeflyin around us. That was the first time I had ever seen someone freeflying before while in freefall. VERY cool stuff to see! I was like "woah...how's he do that?!?"

Nice warm up weekend for the start of the season. 3 freefly, 1 kinda RW coach with EdC that falls at like 145 on his belly and 3 RW videos today. Swoops up on no wind days Beer just since I felt like buying.

pre-second time I get to post weekend numbers....it's about time.

Went to the SDC Spring Expo. Did AFP levels 2 and 3 Friday, stood up my landing on level 3, and did level 4 on Saturday, first solo exit, first unintentional backflip on exit, first out landing and stood that one up too. Gotta say thanks to Rook Nelson, he is a great instructor. Got winded out today but I am pumped for the season.

Saturday 1 jump from 3k hop and pop under the incessant clouds. not too bad a jump. I needed to unpack the Conquest and put the Lotus Demo canopy in my rig.
Took off and picked up Mark Harju and drove to the airport picked up PostWhore#1 and headed to Kapowsin to see what was up.

Went to din din.. had massive quantities of dead animal parts then off to a party at Kellys place.. Good times good people...

Today Got up to a glorius BLUE sky in Seattle... albeit a tad late.. I slept in.. ok I was being lazy...
Took of for Snohomish and wandered in.. told manifest to shoehorn me on a load so I coudl go high dump high and Practice flying a canopy 70 SQ ft smaller than the one I have been jumping since the Byron Boogie in Sept.
Craig at manifest and Tyson the DZO.. say GET IT ON.. and go get on that plane.. I turn around look out the window... and WHOA>. the Grand Caravan from Kapowsin... SCHWEEEEEEEEEEET.... our little C-182 drop zone just turned into a TURBINE DZ for the DAY... throw on the gear and run to the airplane.. jump fly the hell out of the LOTUS Airlocked from Big Air SPortz and l land it with a bit of an early flare... that sucker is WAY faster than the Triathalon and the Conquest I have been jumping.. but.. I held it.. and stood it up... OK

5 great jumps today with GORGEOUS scenery of ALL of the North Cascades all snow capped and BEAUTIOUS... the Puget Sound below us.. and the Olympic Mountians on the other side of the sound to the west. The Pilot has a different jump run out to the west over Everett so its fun to GAWK the scenery on the way to altitude topped off with a really kewl 18 way tracking sunset dive at Shohomish.

Perris rocked. . .I had a great time there. Thanks everyone for making me feel welcome. . .5 learning dives at MJ's 2-way skills camps. . .man he can work you butt off. . .I landed out on the first jump. . .that was fun but the truck was right there to pick me up. I landed in the student landing area on my second jump (planned) but I will NEVER do that again unless it is my ONLY option. . .way too much dirt and that stuff is deep. . .the rest of landings were in the grass next to the student area. . .I avoided the main area because there were TOOOOOOO many people there for me. There were 3 planes operating all day. . .the skyvan, and two otters. . .it was a glorious day for jumping and I owe beer, which I will promptly pay the next time I am out. . .

My first "working" jump for the video concession and my first screw up on the video.. turned it off right before I climbed out.
The Cam-eye confused me.. There was only about 5 minutes left on the tape and it was blinking. I thought I had turned it on, but I guess I didn't.
At least the stills came out great so the jump wasn't completely blown. Luckily this was not a paying customer.

An excellent 2-pt 16-way.
5-pt 7-way.

The 16-way was 4-way diamonds built off a 4-way bi-pole base. Then the diamonds were turned and redocked into a giant solid 16-way diamond. Last to a round. We didn't get the round for the 3rd pt, but it was fun.

i got nothin.

i was gonna go to the sdc expo but i woke up at noon on saturday (i wasn't going to be able to go sunday) and figured that it wasnt worth paying to only be able to go for a couple hours since i would have had to leave early to go out in chicago. i really wanted to go to the freefly seminars. oh well.

now i am praying for good weather for next weekend!
