jumperconway 0 #1 March 26, 2004 I found out 3 weeks ago about it and had my first treatment Tuesday after my vacation. Anyone else involved?

juanesky 0 #3 March 26, 2004 As Ian said, was it caught early? What is the treatment? Chemo-radiation? Have been involved, not because it happened to me, but to my father, and a couple of close friends. Hope you are on your way to defeat the sucker. d_squared431 0 #4 March 26, 2004 It is a rough road you are on but I am sure if you keep your spirits up, you can pull through this. I don't know what or how you must be feeling right now, however I do understand. My step mom has been cancer free for almost 2 yrs and just in the last month she has been very sick. Right now we are waiting to here the results from her ultrasound to see if the cancer spread to her liver. Michele 1 #5 March 26, 2004 No, but my thoughts and prayers are with you. It's a long, tough fight, but you're the kind of person who can make it through with shining colors. If you need an ear, I'm a pretty good listener, so throw a pm my way if the urge arises. And know that you are definitely in my prayers, and that you are in the prayers of many. jumperconway 0 #8 March 26, 2004 It was caught very early. The symtems were just like UTI but I was told 6 weeks of direct treatments should correct it. They inject some tuberculin solution into the bladder which attaches to the cancer cells and the immune system supposedly cures it. The treatment involves a cathoder which isn't very pleasant but it beats the alternative.
Gawain 0 #9 March 26, 2004 Best wishes on your treatment. Glad it was caught early too! Hope the prognosis is good! I've not dealt with it, but let me ask this: Do you "feel" bladder cancer? What would be symptoms and what prompted the examination for it?<--Edit: Saw your previous post...asked/answered.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! I've not dealt with it, but let me ask this: Do you "feel" bladder cancer? What would be symptoms and what prompted the examination for it? Same as urinary tract infection. Urgency to urinate, burning and passing matter whilst urinating, often blood although I never saw any, that was my dad's symptom and he had tumors when he started passing blood in the urine. juanesky 0 #18 March 26, 2004 Well Conway, I am glad that it was caught early on. Can we all assume the prognosis your doctor is positive? I think so, based on the treatment ordered, but, be positive at all times. Prayers and best wishes. Just recently having a family member diagnosed with breast cancer in it's very early stages, her prognosis looks good. I'm glad yours was diagnosed early and you can now treat it and win the battle.
