skymama 37 #13 March 17, 2004 Joe was one of those guys who started jumping when parachutes were made out of wood and had thousands of jumps. I believe he was about 60. I saw him at the dz on Saturday and got a big hug from him. He didn't seem any different than usual. Joe will definitely be missed in Deland. I was just thinking about the time that he broke his femur by being cut off by someone in the main landing area while I was working in Deland. Even when he was busted up, he still hung out at the DZ. Super nice guy. I will miss him very much. He was jumping shortly thereafter. Amazing thing. My condolences to the whole family in Deland. We will miss him. Real cool guy.
