I know, I am from the Northeast as well, getting a little sick of this weather myself. Had hoped to jump this weekend, but of course got up Sunday (with a terrible terrible hangover, but still wanting to jump) only to find out that the winds decided to act up. Of course there was lots of jumping on Saturday, but I decided to go out with friends and abuse myself, now I wished I had gone to the DZ instead. But I guess it is good that I got some "quality" time in with my whuffo friends before the nice weather comes and I disappear every single weekend Oh well...next weekend. Only got in 3 of the jumps though, then the plane's starter broke and the winds were too high by the time it was fixed. But we did do all the classroom stuff and it was awesome! I highly recommend it to jumpers of all experience levels. Saturday morning was spent relaxing in my room, all afternoon I was sick...ventured out a little later on to find out it was raining, went to burger king, spent the rest of the evening in bed...still sick... Today Ive been relaxing...feeling much better...I'm supose to have plans tonight..may go out for diner or into the city or soemthing...but not sure if thats are gonna hold or fall through... Exciting huh? The highlite was Friday afternoon when my new to me rig came in the mail. It made friday better as I had been stuck in the mud with a load of hay earlier in the day. The weather has been shit all weekend cold snow and rain. Saturday morning I went to a farm auction to buy a grain drill. I stood there in the cold and drissel in mud up to my knees for an hour and a half. No luck it went for just twice what I wanted to pay. Later I helped a friend fix his girlfriends car. After dinner was the high point of the weekend when I drove the pumper to a car fire. It was going good when we got there. Today I worked on a combine I've had in my shop for a month, hopefully that'll be done this week. Later I went to the fire hall and washed my truck inside and out. Now I'm on this computer babeling on about my weekend. I can't wait till it warms up so I can jump and start field work. Like stacy, I was discouraged by the skygods demos of a variety of landings... Saturday nite a great band and party! Muff Brothers Punch and Jello shots, while intensely effective, did not leave us with a hangover so.... Sunday got in 2 early morning jumps before gusts picked up enough to spend the rest of the day watching boxman's big ways (including an awesome pair of earmuffs seen easily from the ground) and still wearing my jumpsuit hoping the first day of spring would go out like a lamb before sunset load!!! Ate corned beef and potatoes, skipped cabbage, slept in a tiny bed. Woke up 4:30am to drive to Charlotte for a 7:00am practice test. Took CharMeck test. Puked out driver's door all over S. Tryon Street. Brought up potatoes. Puked again all over Westinghouse. Found roach motel Super 8, crashed for two hours. Wasted day, played insomniac until 2:30am. Woke up at 6:00am for real test with CharMeck PD. Aced it with flying colors. Shaved three seconds off physical test time. Drank Red Bull, drove from Charlotte through Columbia past Charleston and Savannah, took interstates to Dublin GA. Got lost, eventually found Roaming DZ. Jumped on ticket given me by an awesome jumper I hardly know. Did threeway with Kelel01 and Chaoskitty. (who's jealous?) Enjoyed sunshine. Beer light went on, proceeded in getting blasted. Fought like a rabid dig for a winnning raffle ticket. Got new shirt. Saw bachelor party video. Did multiple whiskey shots out of glowing shot glass. (looked like a glowstick, very cool) Not sure who I did them with. Had overall awesome time, slept in car. Woke up, blown out day, wandered, said good byes, got hugs from Kelly and Kristi (who's jealous?), drove home. Haven't slept yet. Waiting for sleep to sneak up on me. I saw some AMAZING cloud formations and got to play with friends above them. There is one part that sticks out. I was about 500ft from landing and the Otter (which just got home to SDH) was doing the sunset flyby while ppl are mooning (the usual) I was last canopy and at the end of the runway, when the plane got to me it pulled STRAIGHT up a couple hundred feet from me. It was an absolutely amazing sight!!
