The111 1 #31 March 20, 2004 Quote Quote It's "The Boys of Summer" by The Ataris. Don Henley's version is better. First, the song's not "by" the Ataris. Second, Don Henley doesn't do a "version". It's his song, as I'm sure you know. That said, the original is infinitely better than the cover by the Ataris. Some punk covers are done well, but this one is not IMO. In fact, the original is so good it might be one of those songs that gives me that tingly feeling... Quote Let's see.... Don't dream it's over - Crowded House One - U2 One - Metallica Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly All 4 very very good choices. Both One's are awesome. :) And I used to always have the CD in my car with Learning to Fly on it when I was doing my AFF years ago, couldn't have been more appropriate. skydiverbc 0 #34 March 20, 2004 i remember when i lived in cincinnati , went to the bar with my boyfriend and brother, saw this 60 year old woman licking her lips at the boyfriend, and lip syncing "She's a Brickhouse" everything i hear that song, i die laughing... gotta love memories
WrongWay 0 #35 March 20, 2004 I don't have a song that really makes me think of skydiving except for all the ones on the skydive vids I've watched hundreds of times. However, for a general "tingly feeling" song, Evanescence "My Immortal", the part of the song that says "But though you're still with me, I've been alone all along". That explains so much about my life, friends, relationships, everything. It's like being where you are, but feeling out of place, like you don't belong, and don't want to be there. It always sends a chill up my spine and a tear to my eye. It always makes me remember how lost I was before I started jumping, and even halfway into it when I lost myself again for a little while then got back on track. It's just a line that makes me feel connected, or disconnected, with everything in my life. Wrong Way D #27371 Mal Manera Rodriguez Cajun Chicken Ø Hellfish #451 The wiser wolf prevails. damion75 0 #37 March 20, 2004 On the weekend when I got my A Licence there were a lot of student skydivers just on their first jump course. As they went up for the flightline check the radio started playing Tocca's "I need a miracle" That cracked me up!!*************** Not one shred of evidence supports the theory that life is serious - look at the platypus. freeflygoddess 0 #40 March 20, 2004 this song reminds me of dz.com..... As far as skydiving, I can find something in just about every song to relate to skydiving. Take for instance Picture by Kid Rock and that chick...sorry forgot her name at this moment... I have changed that song to be about a belly flyer guy and a FF chick, who at the end of the song get together for a hybrid...if ya ever see me at the dz I will sing it to ya. I also like that "blue skies, nothing but blue skies" song, but right now the blue skies here are depressing me, because we have no money to jump and my morning sickness is a bitch right now any ways...but I start a new job on Monday and I will be back in the air by next weekend
