Lee03 0 #1 March 21, 2004 It's been a long day. It's always a long day when you can't jump. Especially when it is a warm, beautiful day. The night will probably be just as long. This poem is an ode to today. The Cloud I see a high lonesome cloud in the sky. He is small and a newcomer to the great heights. I will call it. He drifts lonesomely along in the great heights. He hardly sticks out from all the other clouds. He is lost in his own territory left at the mercy of the wind to take him away. Now he is gone. As senselessly as he appeared he has disappeared. Swallowed up by the blue sky. His brothers do not miss him any. He might reappear as a big cloud but for now His spot is forgotten in the great heights. How senselessly to put a soul in the sky only to make him die again. Why.... --Danial Hibbard, 1992-------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule
