DeNReN 0 #1 March 14, 2004 Peacefuljeffery's thread on simpsoms/family guy...has me thinking about some of my fav shows. Red Dwarf popped to mind! ...Its been a few years sence I have seen a episode.....used to air on a pbs channel(how come british comedys only seem to air on pbs channels?)....being a "cult" type show here in Canada...most have never seen or heard of it.... So here's my Question. Who here has seen it/heard of/liked it/loved it/named there 1st born Lister/knows the song(I do)etc.?
jahk 0 #2 March 14, 2004 It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere. I'm all alone, more or less. Let me fly, far away from here, Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun. I want to lie, shipwrecked and comatose, drinking fresh mango juice. Goldfish nose (?), nibbling at my toes, Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun. masher 1 #3 March 14, 2004 Seen it, like it, love it. Series IV just came out in DVD. I am so getting it! They put "Backwards" on the DVD backwards, so you hear what the backwards people are saying. How cool is that? Fun? Ah yes, the employment of time in a profitless and non-practical way.-- Arching is overrated - Marlies

miked10270 0 #6 March 14, 2004 It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere. I'm all alone, more or less. Let me sail, far away from here, Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun. I want to lie, shipwrecked and comatose, drinking fresh mango juice. Goldfish shoals, nibblin' at my toes, Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun. And for all the real fans... It's available on DVD , there's (I think) 3 books. It was all done by BBC North-West and it's pretty obvious that no expense was spent, yet it was blisteringly funny for the script. Unfortunately, as it was moving into the mainstream 2 things happened: Craig Charles (Lister) was arrested and remanded on a charge of rape (subsequently found innocent) and the writers (Rob Grant & Doug Naylor) went their seperate ways. At the moment the planned next series and a film are "pending". Oh yeah... In the UK there's plenty of repeats, but usually at godforsaken hours. Mike. FlailingJohn 0 #9 March 14, 2004 The books were pretty funny too. I can only remeber the names of 2. "infinity welcomes careful drivers and the last human. I cannot remeber the other one. "oxygen is for loosers" "suck my thermos!" "would anyone like any toast?" "theirs an old cats saying.....We...are all ..going to die" "The Cops hate it when your Rat Arssed" I threw my confidence out the airplane door years ago......... jakee 1,489 #12 March 14, 2004 the other book was a reworking of backwards. "thats me! I'm Cloister, Cloister the STUPID?" "The first arc went on its search for Fushal, and lo, they flew straight into an asteroid. the cats on the second arc rejoiced, knowing that they were indeed righteous"Do you want to have an ideagasm?
