kai2k1 0 #1 March 9, 2004 I was 20 years old stationed in Germany. Went to Nurenberg the night before to get in line to see a concert when my buddies and I decided to go to this bar called the Green Goose. We hung out half the night doing Jager shots and drinking Germany's finest hefeweizen. About 2 am we decided to leave and go to the concert venue. We're walking down the street to this little Gyros stand when I accidentally knocked this long-haired dude down. I started apologixing profusely when he looks at me and says "Dont worry about it dude, I'm ok." To my amazement it was none other than James Hetfield, The lead singer of Metallica. We started bullshitting with him and told him that we were going to get in line so we could get close to the front row (there's no such thing as a reserved seat at an open air concert). He looks at us and knows that we're in the Army and procedes to give us backstage and pit passes for the show the next afternoon. We met the band and the 2 opening acts (Suicidal Tendencies and The Cult) Got autographs and other SWAG. They rocked everyone's world that afternoon. I never ever thought in my life that something like that would happen. There's my story, where's yours? RevJim 0 #10 March 9, 2004 QuoteAny story you want to post. Its fine, I want to prove that "everyone" has a story. OK, fine. I live in Waupaca, WI. This town's only claim to fame is it''s not quite as tourist trappy as Niagra Falls. When I was younger, basically from 12 to 14 years of age, I drove (captained?) a teeny tiny sternwheeler around the Chain 'O Lakes here. It was a private boat, and the passengers were also the owners, and only when here on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Olson. That would be the Johnny of "Bonny Smith, c'mon down! You're the next contestant on the Price is Right!" fame. I never did get to meet Bob Barker though. He was here visiting a few weekends, I guess, but each time was a crap weather weekend, so I never got the call to come and drive the boat for a bunch of famous drunks. It's your life, live it! SullyFlyer 0 #11 March 9, 2004 It was my brother's bachelor party and I was up all night drinkin in the casino (Vegas Bachelor Party) and the guys decide we need to go to the space needle-lookin thing. Details are all little fuzzy because I was drunk, a lot. But we get to the place and we go up to the bar at the top and we make a wrong turn and walk into the biggest guy I had ever seen. He was in the door way and I looked around him into this little room (this was not easy - I tell you this guy was huge) and see Britney Spears talking to a couple of people. The guy steps forward and says "you need to go around" - "no problem huge dude, we'll go around." That's it for my story. ~ Fear is the thief of dreams... BoostedXT 0 #12 March 9, 2004 My story.....doesnt involve someone famous but I think its interesting.... I lived in orlando Florida for 2 years while attending school. Well me and some friends go to Universal one day to go on some rides. Well we hop on the Dualing draggins ride and I am sitting in front left of red dragon I believe....memory is not helping right now. Well as we climb the hill the blue dragon pulls up next to us and I hear..."Hey Joe!" I turn to see my best friend from elementary, middle, and freshman year of High school sitting in the front right seat of the blue dragon. We rode the ride then got off and talked for a bit...I havent seen him in 5 years till that day. What are the odds of being in the same amusement park, but on the same ride on ajoining seats at the same exact time. Thats my story for now..I will post another on later.:) JoeFor long as you live and high you fly and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry and all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be. flyangel2 2 #14 March 9, 2004 Ugh! No! Not if it almost killed you. Remember, I have to get my ass up early to work while at WFFC. Unlike one of the other LO that post her, that loves to stay up all night. Oh well, I'll just spot her off on a free skydive, and shake the port-a-potty when she's in it again. So, Kai, it's a date for us?May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. tunaplanet 0 #16 March 9, 2004 QuoteI got 3 patties on my $1 double cheeseburger from McDonalds. That's far better than meeting a dirt-bag loser with no talent. Sorry, never liked that man. I probably would have done something stupid like beat his ass on site and celebrate with 2 gyros with extra tzatziki sauce and a pint of ale. Metal though, from the "Ride the Lightning" and "and Justice for all" (my personal favorite) times do have a place in history, but let's keep it history though. It's your life, live it!
