groove75 0 #1 March 7, 2004 http://home.midsouth.rr.com/groove/images/new_rig.jpg Brand new! And before anyone starts asking... Yes that's dirt on the rig, yes I busted my ass yesterday on my brand new rig. Good thing I got dark colors! I'm still happy that I went with new equipment, even if it's my first rig. The only regrets are...... Ugh I'm so much in debt now. Between school and skydiving.....sigh. At least I can have a smile on my face on the weekends while this thing is on my back, because I'm going to have a grimace on my face the rest of the time... scottjaco 0 #5 March 7, 2004 Take a damp rag or towel and wipe the dirt off. You don't have to let the dirt stay on there, especially on the leg strap!

jb092 0 #14 March 8, 2004 After the dirt drys, use a stiff brush to clean it up. Remeber it's not broke in umtill there is a little mud on it What could possibly go wrong?
groove75 0 #15 March 8, 2004 Thanks for all the comments As far as the dirt cleaning goes...... Is a damp rag safe to wipe it off with, or should I stick with a stiff brush only? I keep hearing differing opinions. I think the reason I was originally told not to use anything damp was the worry of getting the reserve wet. I'm going to try using a brush first. Ah well. I chose dark and neutral colors for this very reason, and to also make it easier to sell when that day comes. Oh, and the main is a Nitron 150. Brand new and a bitch to pack since it's the max limit of the sizing of my container (M2).
jb092 0 #16 March 8, 2004 My rigger is the one who told me to use only a stiff brush. So thats all I would use. What could possibly go wrong?
countryscrub 0 #17 March 8, 2004 also if you got time just soak the strap over night in some warm water and dish soap like palmolive and then scrub scrub in the morning just allow it to get plenty of air to dry when your done ....um not that i have ever had to clean a leg strap ...um ya...thats it ...ya um ...so hows the weather out there _________________________________________ i used to do alot of things ....skydiving wont be one of them :)
scottjaco 0 #18 March 8, 2004 LOL!! You aren't going to get the reserve wet by brushing the container with a damp rag! It is inside of a freebag that doesn't let water soak through. Even if a little bit did, it wouldn't hurt it.
