sunnydee123 0 #1 March 4, 2004 Just wondering what other skydiver types do. I was always a "planner"...liked to plan trips and know in advance the majority of the details. Over the last year I have watched my "planner" qualities kinda sorta disappear for the most part but now, as the summer is approaching I am kinda wanting to know what other people are doing so I can figure out my vacation schedule, especially around the holidays (Easter, 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc). So talk to me, do you plan ahead or do you decide the day before you are going somewhere, that you are going? ****my May is looking empty as of right now. Wonder what might be fun to do **** Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
Zenister 0 #2 March 4, 2004 both, but as i argued far to often with someone who's excuse for not commiting to anything was "i dont make plans" you cant do anything really epic without some level of planning (or an obscene amount of cash) a trip to the zoo...no planning required.. Rafting the Amazon?? local bar band? no planning nessesary opening night at the Philharmonic?? 3 way fun jump? fuck it lets huck it... 3 point 200 way??____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Paige 0 #4 March 4, 2004 For Spring Break I'm going to FL with osuskydiver. We fly by the seat of our pants or at least we will for this trip. If we go to a dz and like it, we'll stay and jump. If we don't, we'll just drive else where and jump. As far as planning trips to meet other people, I like to know a few details so I make sure no one is going to bitch out on me and I'm the only one there or something like that. Over planning used to be my thing but now I just don't want to worry about a schedule. I usually plan big events like concerts, comics, boogies, just to make sure I can get done the things I really want to; the rest doesn't matter to me.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

Nightingale 0 #6 March 4, 2004 Well, when I went to Ireland, I had a plane ticket, a hostel reservation for the first two nights, and a rental car reservation. beyond that, no plans. now... I had my first skydive planned for eight months. sometimes, I know exactly where I'm going and when. Others, I'll just throw a sleeping bag into the back of my car. depends on my mood, really. skymama 37 #7 March 4, 2004 I do both. My summer vacation with the kids is already planned, but it wouldn't be beyond me to run off at the drop of a hat before that if a good idea was presented to me. VanillaSkyGirl and I are also looking for something to do over July 4th. Maybe we can get a whole bunch of chicks together someplace! sunnydee123 0 #8 March 4, 2004 I am SOOOO game for that. Last year I went to Raeford with Kramer and Gillian...fun but lotsa driving. I want to do something around the long weekend, keep me posted! skybytch 273 #9 March 4, 2004 QuoteI do both. Me too. I plan for WFFC months in advance, and I planned my trip back to California last month over a month ahead. But occasionally I get a wild hair and do the spur of the moment thing... like deciding less than a week prior to the trip to take a week off work, rent a car and drive a couple thousand miles to surprise a friend. Or deciding at 7pm Friday night to leave right now and spend the weekend in Vegas (I miss you laurie! ). I tend to do the spur of the moment thing more when I have available credit. lawrocket 3 #10 March 4, 2004 I'm a planner. I don't have the cash to do things spur of the moment. My wife is hotter than your wife.
skyyhi 0 #11 March 4, 2004 I tend to be a planner. . .doesn't mean I can't make LAST MINUTE plans though. . .Memorial Day at Perris is where Me, Islandcool and VanillaSkyGirl are going to be, then VanillaSkyGirl asked if I would like to join her and SkyMama in finding something fun to do over the long 4th of July weekend. I am game for both of those events and they are planned. . .other than that, last minute plans are fine. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
airtwardo 7 #12 March 4, 2004 Never Plan!!! Then you feel as though you 'have' to be somewhere or be doing something...to be 'on schedule' I just got back from 2 days in NYC... We decided to go an hour before the flight left. We packed in 15 minutes, called the babysitter, made hotel reservations while in the plane there. These trips are ALWAYS the best! A few years ago my honey and I took a long drive in our 'Vette from San Diego to San Francisco.. intended to be a 3-4 day trip... 10 days later we're in Anchorage!!! and I'm on a load, jumping borrowed gear, with D-1... Or the time we went to Vegas for the weekend... and 3 days later I'm borowing 'moleskin' from some hiker because it's really not a good idea to walk to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in new cowboy boots! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
sunnydee123 0 #13 March 4, 2004 I'll be in Perris the last weekend in April (thru May 3rd) but I am game to plan something 4th of July with the girls. I wanna go somewhere I've never been before . We should start a new post, "Girls and the 4th of July - Where you gonna be?!" Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
skyyhi 0 #14 March 4, 2004 QuoteGirls and the 4th of July - Where you gonna be?! Oh, GREAT idea. . .love it. . .this is an easy one for me since the only place I have ever been jumping at is Elsinore so far. . .anywhere for me would be new. . .lol________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
PhillyKev 0 #15 March 4, 2004 Depends. If I'm going somewhere and have specific things I want to do and limited time, I'll plan. But, I took a few weeks to drive cross county and didn't plan anything accept a couple of places I wanted to hit. Figured out the root and where to stay from day to day. VanillaSkyGirl 6 #16 March 4, 2004 Quote VanillaSkyGirl asked if I would like to join her and SkyMama in finding something fun to do over the long 4th of July weekend. Skymama, I was going to tell you about Darcy and the 4th (it would be great to have her as a third roomie). You are both awesome women and have similar mature, yet laid-back/fun personalities. Well, I am pretty positive that you two would totally get along, but we can finalized roommates way later. We have plenty of time. The 4th is a great time for the girlie get-together. Of course, that doesn't mean that we cannot socialize with the males, as well... Lol...for the most part, I am such a planner, but I just LOVE spontanaeity, every so often, too!
