Yoshi 0 #27 January 8, 2004 ahh ok...here are some other paintings of mine..the pix dont do any justice to the amount of texture in the painings at all...there is actually an extensive amount of work put into these.... chatter is about 2.5feet tall by like 4 feet wide...and there is so much plaster and paint on that thing...the paint itself is about 1/2 thick and in some places up to 3-4 inches thick goodnight is the largest of these three at 4 feet by 6 feet. very thick in paint (took about 6 months to dry) illusion is all about the layers...as you can see there are several including plastic, newspaper, oilpain, acrylic paint...etc... i just love mixed media...painting is such a great release..._________________________________________ this space for rent. happythoughts 0 #30 January 8, 2004 Dave Rickerby used to paint a lot of stuff. The wall mural at Heads was awesome. Part of it still exists. He designed a lot of t-shirts with skydiving themes. They can be found in spots. The most popular thing that he did was painting reserve poptops. I don't know if you consider that "art", but everyone who has one loves it. skyminxx 0 #31 January 9, 2004 Kelly Green does some fabulous skydiver artwork, amongst other things: her website is www.flyvisions.com We have two limited edition peices of hers on our walls. It helps that she used to be the camera chickie for my B/f's team (The Angry Beez) so some of the art is based on people that we know. We also have a bunch of artsy skydiving photos taken by Andy, her hubby, when he was their videographer. Skydiving art rocks Good luck with your girls art, im sure that it will be a huge hit. VanillaSkyGirl 6 #36 January 10, 2004 QuoteI absolutely adore Kelly Green's work. http://flyvisions.com/imgs/gallery/penink/FreekDHpanel3.jpg I looked at Kelly Green's work, and I loved it, as well. Thank you Skyminxx! Great link! Jumpinjackflash ~ Great new avatar! You look very happy! I have an apparel design BFA from Otis Parsons College of Art and Design, and I've been classically trained with my artwork. I am also an artist/illustrator, but my work is quite pricey for the average person. Actually, it's been a while since I have drawn or illustrated by hand. Now, I mostly love to sketch/design by computer for work. If I were to draw or paint, it would have to be for some kind of passionate expression. That's a great idea, though...skydiving art. I may paint some for myself if I get so inspired. There is an art gallery in West L.A. that hires nude models once a week in the evening for random artists to join together and create life drawings. I think that I'll join in again, soon. It's been too long. I also have a nice studio (in a room next to my bedroom) in my parents' home, so I could always go paint or create when I feel the need. Sometimes, though, being around others with the passion for art is more inspirational and gets me more into the pieces. It can be such a beautiful experience. I look back fondly at my years in Art College.
 VanillaSkyGirl 6 #37 January 10, 2004 QuoteI look back fondly at my years in Art College. Actually, I just remembered that at my art college, we worked our asses off 24/7! We and our instructors/mentors were sooooo critical of all our work. With my design work, we all had to work through Thanksgiving vacation (that Saturday was mandatory school) and had work during Christmas vacation. Then, they threw out/tore up everyone in my classes' hours and hours of work out because they were not happy with the quality. Everyone that I knew there cried hysterically at some point or was humiliated at some point. We couldn't miss 3 classes in one semester or we were kicked out of the college forever. We couldn't miss any lectures as some of our studio classes were 6 hours long each. Sleep was not an option either. I saw more people pass out from exhaustion that I could believe. Yes, this was the design department in my art college, believe it or not! I don't miss that BS, but, believe it or not, I look back on college fondly. Dammit, where's my easel and gouache! I was amazed to watch her work, as she stood there, right at the event, and rendered her work right then and there. She would watch and gather the emotion and skill of the competitors, then start her work. Before the event was over she'd have at least 2 pieces of artwork for sale. She went to every event and did this. It was amazing. Here are the 2 I bought, after being invited back to her press room studio there in Lahti. btw, she was on her way to the next Olympics for her next assignment. It would be her 4th one to be invited to. For those in Greece for the next Olympics, keep your eye out for her. She's a real cool lady. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
 RoysPlayThing 0 #39 March 1, 2004 Bump.. okay...
