Catching cold sores from kissing on the DZ

Recommended Posts

Don't make me hurt you - because you know that I am a mean person deep down inside. No, wait I'm normally mean but deep down inside I'm really nice. No wait.... I don't know I'm confused but I know that I do have a mean streak and I will hurt you! I'll even turn Kuma against you.

So have you got your damn ticket for March Madness yet, Cootie Boy!

Don't worry about kissing someone with one their face - worry about shaking their hand. If they touch the open sore and don't wash their hand - there you go.

That's why I never touch my face/mouth unless I have just washed my hands. I am with Tinkerbelle on this, I have never had cold sores and never want to get them. They freak me out. I will not even share a drink with my best friend. I will with an exclusive girlfriend who does not have a sore though.

Nice - yes, I smell nice. So quit procrastinating book the tix's and come on over to the states where our dropzones team with festering cold sores. ;)

In response to - shoot don't remember who about their being freaked out. - How do you know your girlfriend has never had one. I haven't had many but I've had it - like I said shingles falls into the catagory. Most people don't realize that the little fever blister they get when they are sick is part of it too. As someone earlier stated you can carry the virus and never have an outbreak - it usually only manifests itself when you are already rundown and sickly.

Anyways, I'm out of this conversation after this. Yes, cold sores are gross. Be careful if you have one. Wash your hands so you don't infect yourself in other areas or anyone else. Don't kiss anyone and definately, definately do not have oral sex. Other than that grow up - it's not a big deal and someone who has one is already self conscious enough without having anyone give them shit.

MEOW MEOW, Here Kitty Kitty!
Of course I was kidding about knowing everything about skydiving-don't be ridiculous!
And by the way, I find your posts offensive too, so there! You've even got the women all riled up a time or two and found yourself apologizing so back off or I'll reach out from inside my sterile bubble and spray you with my disinfectant! ;)

being exposed to shingles - which is adult chicken pox. Chicken pox is a herpes virus

Yes it is & it typically shows up on the ribcage area or in straight patterns following nerves from the spinal cord. I had them show up after an extreemly stressful point in my life. Everyone that has had chicken pox has this form of herpes.

If a person has not had chicken pox, they can get them from coming in contact w/ shingles - I kept mine under a bandade.

I have a friend that had genetal herpes passed to her from her b/f while he was "downtown" w/ a cold sore.

All 3 forms of herpes can pass onto any area of the body - point is to stay away from them. I agree w/ you tinkerbelle - I will not get near or touch anything someone w/ a visible cold sore has touched. I can not cotrole the invisible signs.

My dad gets cold sores & my mom does not.. go figure. I'm def not saying people w/ them are gross - everyone has the chance of getting them.

Oh, peacefulljeffrey - you are a delight, however, what you can get on your foot is a planters wart and they SUCK!! They are on the bottom of the foot, painful & have to be burned off. They are easily passed on in communial or even just shared showers.

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.
