samhussey 0 #1 March 1, 2004 I had a novel experience today. A cop just stopped their car and asked me to take part in an ID parade this evening. I get £10 for 15mins work. I've never done one before, so I was wondering if anyone else has (UK especially), what it was like, what you had to do etc...
mr2mk1g 10 #2 March 1, 2004 I'd love a go - sounds like a laugh and easy money. They'll tell you what to do - its just like TV. Just stand there, turn to one side, get paid £10. Most of the time there's not even a genuine dispute over ID, they just do it to be on the safe side and already have the guy they're after. (I'd want a alibi for the time they're worried about just in case I was fingered, but thats just me).
Nick 0 #3 March 1, 2004 Just hope they don't pick you out!!!! Nick Gravity- It's not just a good idea, it's the LAW!
chapdog 0 #4 March 1, 2004 They use that ploy all the time. I predict you`ll be fitted up good and proper, just after the short sighted little old lady ID`s you for whatever heinous crime you did OR did not commit. ------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------- No really,if only someone had a camera! Zeemax 0 #5 March 1, 2004 yeah, i had a mate that used to do this all the time. Nothing to it, just turn up, stand in a line and thats about it. Theres no worry about being picked either. If you are, it makes no odds. Your not the one they suspect. My mate got picked a couple of times, means nothing.Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
mr2mk1g 10 #6 March 1, 2004 Yeah it generally means nothing.... but there have been instances in the past where the parade "extra" was picked and then prosecuted! Happens very rarely and generally only where they probably were a very good suspect anyway. As I said, just spair a thaught about where you were at the time when the incident took place, but otherwise don't sweat it.
