Mike Fierberg, spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, said the screener's colleagues were dumbfounded to see the stunt. "The screener went through the X-ray machine voluntarily," Mr Fierberg said. "I cannot ascribe any sort of motive to why anyone would do this." The name of the airport employee, who was working at a passenger checkpoint, has not been released. Mr Fierberg added: "The screener in question did not jeopardise the safety of any passengers or aircraft," he said. "But it was clearly behaviour that is not acceptable. We expect more from our screeners and, by and large, they are a highly trained workforce."
