Vallerina 2 #76 February 18, 2004 Quote I'm saying that this could follow them for a long time, not that they wouldn't get to jump somewhere! Use your own advice. How could this follow them around if most jumpers don't really care about the drama that goes on on dz.com??? I'm sure they'll be allowed to jump anywhere. I doubt many dzos are out of their mind enough to deny them at their dz. I'm also saying that they'll probably be welcomed with open arms at most dzs as well. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
AggieDave 6 #77 February 18, 2004 Think about it! Lets say there's 1 jumper at a DZ that is on DZ.com. Some other jumper, the one in question, pops up on the DZ, what is going to be said about the person at that point? "Oh man, that's the guy that got a jumper fired..." I know you know how drama can spread on a DZ by word of mouth. I'm not saying it'll be a big deal, I'm saying that it could follow. Also, never once did I say or imply that they wouldn't be allowed to jump somewhere. You're making that shit up.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." mr2mk1g 10 #78 February 18, 2004 he didn't say they wouldnt - just that this might follow them... what if at the DZ where they're welcomed with open arms there is one skydiver who knows they did this? Would that constitute this "following them around"? They wouldnt even have to tell anyone else there about it - that one person reacting to the fucktard that did this would be ramifications from this. PhreeZone 20 #84 February 18, 2004 There are people on here that have absolutly slammed DZ's, manufactors and everything associated with other jumpers and I'm yet to ever see them recieve anything other then warm welcomings at DZ's. I'm done my share of slamming things and I stil lget warm friendly receptions every where I go. But hey, I've only been to 25 DZ's now so I've never been anywhere that would matter Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

diverdriver 6 #86 February 18, 2004 Quote What will be said by the jumpers at my dz (even most that are on dz.com): Who the hell cares??? Doesn't care that someone was an idiot and tried to have someone fired in their REAL job just because they posted here? I don't think I'd care to go on a skydive or waiste time with anyone like that. But that's just me. This isn't drama on DZ.com. This is drama in the REAL world. With real people's JOBS. That's how I see it. I hope Canuck PMs me when he finds out who it is so I can be on the lookout. I've seen this sort before. They also tend to run to the FAA if you say something they don't like. We had a jumper from the midwest running around like a rotor head and when he was asked to leave certain DZs he would call the FAA claiming they were jumping through clouds. You want that person welcomed with open arms? By the way, this jumper was making up stories about jumping through clouds. The one weekend they were here it was crystal clear as backed up by the local weather reports.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
Vallerina 2 #87 February 18, 2004 Quote I don't think I'd care to go on a skydive or waiste time with anyone like that. But that's just me. No, I wouldn't care to either. However, in any setting, be it a dropzone, work, social settings, people talk/gossip constantly. Just because someone comes up to me and says, "Hey, Joe Smith tried to get Billy Bob fired! We have proof!" doesn't mean that I'm really going to care all that much if I don't know Billy Bob. You hear crap about people all the time. Those who aren't a part of dz.com really don't care about what happens on it.There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
diverdriver 6 #88 February 18, 2004 Quote You hear crap about people all the time. Those who aren't a part of dz.com really don't care about what happens on it. That's my point Val. This didn't happen on here. It happened in the real world. Hence, why I want to know who it is so I can avoid them. Now if they claimed that Canuck was tampering with engine parts then I would call the friggen FAA, NTSB, FBI, TSA myself and post how I had done it here. But come on. Email his employer that he's posting on DZ? This person needs to grow up or be put out of this skydiving community.
Vallerina 2 #89 February 18, 2004 Quote Hence, why I want to know who it is so I can avoid them. But, that's because you're a dz.com poster. Dz.com posters now have justified concerns of other posters contacting their employers. Hence, it's a dz.com issue. Those who don't post here and don't worry about losing their job because of someone contacting their boss about their computer use...they don't really have to worry about this person. Sure, what the person did was pretty spineless. There are much better and more effective ways to bring your enemies down. But, those who don't post here really don't care what might happen to their job because of posters here. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

eeneR 3 #91 February 18, 2004 Personally it is a load of shit that this person tried to get steve fired...but that is me. It is childish, but you have to remember when you do things that might get you in trouble...that well it might get you in trouble, if that is something that you are afraid of the consequences, then dont do it. If it is a non-issue...then well its a non-issue. I have been working in IT for over 10 years, You have to keep in mind, most companys have a interenet usage policy that states you CANNOT use the company internet for personal usage. If you choose to disobey this, that is your call. You take the risk of breaking a rule, and yea, they may look over it, however if for what ever reason they decide it can be thrown back in your face and yes fired over it. Now im not sure if Steve's Company has this policy or not, but my experince is that most do. They are paying $1000's of dollars amonth for the internet bandwith, for business not for web surfing. Did I surf against company policy? yes all the time. I was fully aware that my surfing was being tracked too...we logged everything on the Proxy servers as most do. That is a risk you take...Rules are rules yes, and sometimes you can bend them, and other times its a risk you have to be willing to take.....She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

mr2mk1g 10 #94 February 18, 2004 does e-mailing the boss indicate: A) they have a problem with him posting on DZ.com? B) they are an arse? If you think they are simply carrying out a vendetta against DZ.commers then you're right - only DZ.commers ought to care. If you think that it might just indicate that this person is an arse then what they do in the real world may just be an issue to you. Do you happily associate with arses or do you try to avoid them because you know the have a tendancy to treat people like shit and do nasty things to them? I avoid people like that. I don't mind if I glean that information from a website, a book, or personal experience. If the info is reliable its worthy of note.

mr2mk1g 10 #97 February 18, 2004 Thats a slightly different issue. Thats questioning the reliability of what Cannuck has said. Not somthing I've seen raised yet and not something I can comment on as I have no idea who he is. Apparently others on here do know him though. Can they rely on what he says? If they can rely on his word do you think they might avoid whoever has attacked him in the real world?
