What was (or will be) your wedding song?

Recommended Posts

I was watching "American Wedding" the other day, and noticed their wedding song was "Into the Mystic" by Van Morrison. I thought it was a good choice, and since then it's had me wondering about wedding songs.

The last wedding I went to the song was "Since I Fell For You" by Lenny Welch.

So... what was yours, or what would you want yours to be if and when you get married?

When I was in college, one of our buddies used to say that he was going to have a DJ play Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" when he got married. I don't know if he did, but my best friend got married and I made sure to have the DJ play it. It's a great love song.

"If the sun refused to shine
I would still be lovin' you
When mountains crumble to the sea
there will still be you and me..."

Depeche Mode - Somebody

Somebody
I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She will hear me out
And won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought and with every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
To anyone's srings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear
Of those things
But when I'm asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I'll get away with it

Except that I would like play it and sing it myself.. oh wait, that might be too much..back up, Just the song;)

I had Children by Robert Miles playing at my wedding and then our first dance at the party was to the Jack Rabbit and Slims twist contest (from Pulp Fiction)

We had "The Rose" done by a soloist during our ceremony (doesn't everyone? :S).

Our first dance was by Firehouse. "When I look into your eyes", in more ways than one. It was our first dance as a married couple, AND our first dance as a dating couple, EXACTLY 5 years earlier. :)
Easy way to remember both your dating and marriage anniversary, have them on the same day.

Same here. It's old tradition, but one I'd like to see make a strong comeback.

Big dress . . . nah, I'll just do what Robin (boxinggirl) did . . . skirt on for ceremony in plane (with INS agents standing around), skirt off for freefall and fun!

Shit, thread hijack. Ok, a song, a song . . . hmmmmmmm . . .

I love "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You" performed by Dean Martin . . . great for dancing, too. :)
