PhoenixFire 0 #1 February 24, 2004 I arrived in london 1 weeke ago and have not skydived in 2 weeks does anybody know where is the best/closest/cheapest dz to go to for the weekend. how do i get there via tubes and buses ? I am on the northern line - brent cross - so the best one from there would be great ( also i have noticed blue skies in the morning am sure i can get at least one load Peace Be Da Journey
Skyrad 0 #2 February 24, 2004 Hi, No way to get to any DZ on a tube train! Try getting a train to MArch and then a taxi to Chatteris (North London Parachute club) See www.bpa.org.uk for a list of nearest DZs. Good luck, the weather is crap and likely to stay that way for the rest of the week. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Zeemax 0 #3 February 24, 2004 Yup, the weather is shitty. It was blues when i got on the train this morning, by the time i got off, it was snowing Check the BPA website for local DZ's, theres a few around london, but all will involve getting a tub into the centre of town, then a train out somewhere else. Jump tix will vary between 17-£20 if you've brought your gear with you. Plus you'll need temporary BPA membership.Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies

gremlin 0 #5 February 24, 2004 Easiest is Headcorn- get the direct train from Waterloo East to headcorn and pay the driver about £4 for the 2 mile trip to the airfield. Netheravo is good option - cheaper jumps and better accommodation but more difficult to get to. You need to get the train to Pewsey (beleive 1/2 changes) and pay the taxi driver about £10 to get to the dz. You will need some ID with a photo but the bar is very cheap £1.50 for everything! If you are thinking about coming to nethers give me a PM.I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....
