Not surprising, since I went to college (AL) & grad (SC) in the real Dixieland, and now have lived in Texas for five years... you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk? Gravitymaster 0 #17 February 20, 2004 Quote"83% (Dixie). Did you have any Confederate ancestors?" Yep, on my mom's side. Have an aunt who is a member of DAR. Grew up in a Military family and lived all over the US but I'm guessing it comes from my mom who grew up in Mississippi and had a southern drawl. Funny though, most who know me wouldn't associate my speech with the south.
Luv2Fall 0 #18 February 20, 2004 Although the test results asked that question, I really don't know........................do know that my maternal Great, great grandfather was a union soldier.............. I was born and raised in Virginia............my grandparents (both sides) and my parents were..well............what some would call "hicks".......good people though. Its Philly and Pittsburgh with Alabama in the middle. I had an ex-gf from just outside Pittsburgh that said "youins."
mnischalke 0 #23 February 21, 2004 no, you had an ex-gf from just outside Pittsburgh who said "youins." I thought it was y'uns. And yeah, I grew up in toward the alabama part of PA. Think about a place that floods every so often, yet people still think it's cool to live there. funny, they do say krik for creek, warshington for washington and use gumbands to wrap up a group of things. One thing I don't miss about that place is how nibby everybody is. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
