bendywendy 0 #576 October 29, 2003 In answer to all your questions... Ok, unfortunately, the otter and skyvan come in the weekend after the bytch boogie. So we will still be jumping the caravan. I even tried to get a second caravan but all of our plane providers planes were promised out already. Credit cards - yes, checks - No, especially from you. Official answer to the beer question would, of course, be that you have to buy from "the guy". Unofficial answer can not be posted so that I wont get spanked by those who lurk and read here. No, $$ necessary for LO's here unless you love them so much that you feel the need to tip them. If you want to give me an official power of attorney form and all your credit cards - I'd be more than happy to fill out your waivers, take over your finances, etc., etc. Why would you want to even remember the word mnemonic? Oh sorry, that wasn't actually one of your questions, was it?
Stacy 0 #577 October 29, 2003 Quote What kind of airplane we jumping? Chance of a form load if we fill more than one plane? I know there is a cessna caravan (carries around 14-15 people if I recall correctly, it's from teh cross keys fleet)- beyond that i'm not sure. Quote Do you take credit cards? Is there a surcharge for credit cards? Will you take a check? Will you take a check from me? Why should I trust someone who will take a check from me? i know they take credit/debit. I think there is a 3% surcharge but I can neither confirm nor deny that. PM bendywendy. I'v enever tried a check, but I"m guessing htat they'd at least have to be in state checks. Quote Can you literally bring beer to the DZ, or do you have to buy it from "the guy who makes his living selling beer at the DZ"? I've brought beer to sebastian without getting a smackdown. QuoteShould I expect to give the LO's a dollar for every load they O? (Don't mind doing it, just looking for a heads up. Ditto on the spankage.) I've jumped with Lyle and the XL guys plenty and never saw any dollar swapping. However, you can give me a dollar every time you jump with me, in effort to avoid being my funnel target. QuoteCan I give you power of attorney to fill out my waiver for me so I don't have to waste time doing it Saturday? i doubt that. __

Had a hangover for 2 days. During that time is when I went out and bought my second set of diamond earrings. I bought the first set when I filed and emptied the checkbook. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.

eeneR 3 #595 October 29, 2003 QuoteBut I still haven't figured out if I am going to try and carry on my rig or just check it at the airport Call me parinoid, but mine is going on the plane with me, it and a few pieces of clothes in my gear bag so its small enough, and the rest of my gear will get checked. If they insist on me unpacking it, there will be less of a chance of me missing the flight. Not to mention, I wont worry about someone tinkering with it, as it will not go out of my sight except when stowed in the over head. teamhypoxia 0 #596 October 29, 2003 Assuming you're flying out of DIA.... leave plenty of time if you want to carry it on. It may work, but you may have to fight about it for a while and end up checking it. (happened to me). And if you have a cypres, forget about that little laminated card. I might as well have told them I was a terrorist and it was a bomb. They recognized the card and freaked out about it. Took about two hours and five or six links up the chain of command to convince them to even let me check the rig. Good luck!
Remster 30 #597 October 29, 2003 How long agao was that? I have heard that TSA did a good job recently in educating their front line people....Remster
eeneR 3 #598 October 29, 2003 Um, when was that? USPA did some work with the TSA....and it is a piece of allowed equipment, there is something on uspa's web page, and a printable letter from the TSA about rules and regs on carrying parachutes. Print it out and have it with you. Here is the link: http://www.uspa.org/membership/travel/rigs.htm There is a link to the TSA document on that page that you can print as wellShe is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
teamhypoxia 0 #599 October 29, 2003 This latest hassle was when we were flying to Rantoul this year. I tried to very calmly explain to all involved the whole deal about the TSA and USPA working everything out, etc... It seems to be a case of too little education being worse than none.
