Would be just a shameless , but I realized I did have something to add to the discussion.

Yes, we plan on being there on Friday, so Lisa should be able to do a jump or two.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Are we there yet?

How 'bout a recap?

Friday - dove will be here, along with some other people. So technically the Bytch Boogie begins on the 31st. B| Capt. Hiram's Sand Bar is on the Friday evening agenda.... should be good, that's Halloween night!

Saturday - Wingsuits and cutaways and RW and freeflying and canopy demos and that kinda stuff til sunset. Dinner hosted by The Drop Shop on the Zoo Bar deck (that means free). Fireworks by Wendy. Karaoke on the Drop Shop deck. Tiki bar will be open. Party on.

Sunday - More jumping. Maybe a beach jump. More partying in the evening for those who don't have to go home til Monday.

What'd I forget?

Man oh man...if the beach jumps were going to be THIS weekend we would be in for some excitement.....10 - 15mph Northeast wind, right off the water. YIKES!

Think I might opt for a "calmer" time for a first beach jump. But man do I want to make one!

hey lisa!

can i get directions to capt. hirams for friday night? not sure what time I will be getting there, at the mercy of rush hour on 95. If I get to the DZ and no one is there I'll at least know where to find the party. :)
Make sure those directions are step by step. i"m horrible at finding places and always get lost.

Well, I'm probably not the best one to be giving directions, but...

From the dz, make a right onto Roseland Road. Go straight at the signal at US1. Turn right onto the street that Roseland dead ends into. Hiram's is down the road on the left.

I have no idea how far it is from the dz. Someone else drove every time I've been there...

Yeah! It's getting closer...

This is the list I have for people who were going to make donations for fireworks.

I'll throw in $10 if it's not too late to offer, and you don't mind me paying on that Saturday...

I also might bring something of my own. I'm a gigantic pyro. Here are instructions for the shortest and coolest fire available. Get several hundred sparklers. Grind the packed powder off into dust (this isn't nearly as hard as it sounds, if you bend the sticks you can get it to crack off with your bare hands) and gather it in some container. When I did this last I filled up about 20% of a Sobe bottle with the dust. The dust will not light with a normal match (at least I couldn't get it to, inside the bottle). You need to drop another sparkler or similarly hot flame inside the bottle and make sure you get the fuck back, fast. You probably shouldn't look at the flame directly. I did for a second, but I was wearing dark sunglasses. The entire combustion lasts about 5 seconds... yet releases the same energy as if you burnt the several hundred sparklers one by one. First the glass bottle glows incredibly bright and shoots a 3 foot jet white flame out the top, but soon enough it can't take it anymore and the bottle simultaneously shatters, melts, and explodes. It's really hard to describe. Kinda like how vamipres die in the movies. But shards of glass fly a few feet out from the bottle. If you are smart, you will not do this on a second floor balcony like I did. For one thing, I ruined part of my (cement) balcony. Worse, I literally almost jumped off the balcony I was so close to getting hit by molten glass shards. I was trying to decide if it was worse to get burnt badly or break my ankles. I ended up just jumping over the edge and hanging onto the railing with my hand and still getting a semi-good view of the chaos, climbing back up when it was over.

In short, it's the coolest thing you've ever seen. Sparklers normally seem pretty tame but it's because the powder is so compressed. When you grind it into dust you increase your surface area (basic chemistry), and it's sort of like a silo explosion, only this shit is actually designed to burn.

When the whole thing was done we had this weird clump on my porch that we dubbed new matter. It was basically a combination of molten glass, cement, and some of the copper/zinc pennies that we buried in the dust out of curiosity. After the initial combustion, it sits there and sizzles angrily at you, and if you poke it with a stick 10 inch flames spurt out at you. After like 10 or 20 minutes it hardens. I think I still have it somewhere. New matter...

I'm gonna restate Lisa's directions. If you get to the DZ and no one is there. Get back to Roseland Road and turn right. Go straight at traffic light. At stop sign (river will be in front of you so don't go straight) make another right. Follow that road at 25 MPH (cops suck in Sebastian) until you see Capt. Hirams on left. Best chance for parking is right across the street on the right (looks like you are parking in the hotel parking but they all share). I am assuming they will be at the Sand Bar which is off to the right as you head towards Hiram's. Walk across a little wooden bridge and into the "sand" - literally.

Hope that helps....it's very easy.

One of my must "TO-DOs" before I die (besides hearing the duck joke) is to observe and study your world-renowned swooping technique in person. Are there any cows near Sebastian ? :)

You haven't heard the duck joke? Damn. I wonder if wingie will license it to me for that weekend...

Too bad its not at Zhills. I bet you could have got Stacy to show you the length of a "TK" in the pond

1 TK is the length it takes for TK to do a flip after hitting the water in a pondswoop. Clearly Stacy is a better swooper so she could probaly go 2 TK's
