Pilot Chute/Canopy question

Recommended Posts

Counting on everything else being compatible. That means if you are not stuffing it into too small of a container that might be a struggle for the bag to come out. I don't think it would be too much of a problem at terminal. you might want to adjust your emergency procedures for a low altitude slow speed bailout. Don't make the stows too big or tight. 1- 1.5 inches should be plenty to hold the canopy in the bag during extraction from the container.

A Raven III canopy (249 square feet) is a comparatively heavy canopy.
While a 25 inch ZP pilot-chute might work at terminal velocity, it cannot be trusted at lower altitudes and slower deployment speeds.

For hop-and-pops, I would want more like a 32 or 36 inch diameter pilot chute.

You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime
