cocheese 0 #1 February 11, 2004 I think my heart and breathing stops as I try to feel everything and listen and see if it's all good. Sensory perception seems high ,but rushed. So many things going on at a time. But it's usually over so quickly. I hear myself saying " C'mon Baby... open up! " "ahhhhhThanks (packers name) or if I packed it myself. .."sweet it worked !" Skyrad 0 #2 February 11, 2004 Damn....You still feel like that after 940 jumps? Thats pretty much how I feel as well, I just thought it would change with time. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. skyyhi 0 #3 February 11, 2004 I had to think about this one. . .I think I do kind of hold my breath until the canopy is fully inflated. . .I am going to have to pay attention at pull time to see what I actually am thinking about. . .I guess I am too new to remember everything. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

MikeJD 0 #15 February 11, 2004 I don't really think about mals, but I do prepare myself for the possibility of an off-heading opening or the potential to have to steer away from another canopy. If I've jumped with a big group and / or I don't have as much separation as I'd like, that anticipation becomes heightened. I also talk to my canopy if it's not opening the way I want it to. I never yell - I find coaxing works better... Now all I think is, "Is there anyone around me? Nope! Good!". Oh, and I still think, "Arch, Reach Pull, Arch!". Yep, I'm a newbie.
