How long can you stand barefoot in snow?

Recommended Posts

I am voting it does not snow here BUT it does snow in Seatttle from time to time...... but one of the nice things about managing to survive to this age ..... is having enough sence not to do really stupid things like running around in snow... barefoot.:S

I always wound up being the one to put the top back on the hot tub with jockeys or just a chilled smile.
Due to that (not by choice) I voted 7+ mins.
****It's better to be careful & take it slow than fall down naked on snow & ice;)

We used to have a dog that would tell us she had to go out NOW. Sometimes it involved bare feet in the middle of the night. It really is more a matter of air temp. Sub zero is miserable after a second or two, but at 30 degrees it's not a big deal. Right now we have snow on the ground, but the ground isn't frozen. I will be kneeling on the ground most of Monday, in a pair of blue jeans with a hole in the knee. I have been building a wall for a client all of this week, doing the same thing. A little chilly, but no real problem.

used to walk out in the winter in shorts and a t-shirt to scrape the car off and start it before getting in the shower.

Had it happen a couple of times where I ended up standing out in the snow for a few minutes. Alcohol was always involved though, never would end up in such a situation sober.;)

dog broke the lead line once chasing a cat, and i had to run out after him barefoot in pajama bottoms, through the neighborhood thru snow, ice filled slush puddles, etc. dont know how long it was, couple minutes, but i do know it hurt like hell......

I have this vision of people standing outside barefoot, pants rolled up, beer in hand, staring at thier watches, in the snow. Then running in to sit at the computer and post thier time on dz.com.:|

Oh, and the old lady next door, yelling to her husband, "Harry, look what he's doin now":P

Got to have more than one season. All sun and warm would just be no fun. What's best is hottubin in the winter while it's snowing. Reminds me. Need to get my brother to come hook up the hot tub.
