Slowfaller 0 #1 February 12, 2004 My girlfriend, two friends and I are trying to plan a trip to vegas but the times absolutly suck,,,,We'd leave Ohare on 03/21 at 10:12pm to arrive in Vegas at 12:07am 03/22 Then depart Vegas on 03/24 at 11:35pm and Arrive back in Chicago at 5am on 03/25. So 3 nights (kind of) in Vegas staying at the beautiful Circus Circus would cost $322 each including airfare and hotel. The flight times to Munich are very flexible. It'd be $430 for roundtrip airfare with one stop in Zurich, Switzerland and I figure 4 or 5 nights would be about $20-$25 a night in youth hostiles and we wouldn't be gambling so in retrospect we'd be spending about the same amount of money. We're all in our early to mid 20's. My g/f is in but its going to be difficult to convince my two friends to suck it up and be adventurous(sp?) What kind of vacation would you decide? A simple trip to Vegas or a more adventurous(sp?) trip to Munich Germany. freeflir29 0 #2 February 12, 2004 Go to Munich! Vegas isn't really all that impressive. Munich OTOH is a GREAT city with millions of things to do. Sep/Oct of course is a better time but I'm sure it's good all year!

bobsled92 0 #6 February 12, 2004 VEGAS+ if you think of playing...those BIG beutiful places were made with money that sucked people into poverty(bring your deed or don't play). bch7773 0 #7 February 12, 2004 I'd say munich. but does at least one of you speak at least a little german? I imagine if you're staying in youth hostels it might be a good idea, since they might not speak english like the normal tourist hotels.. indyz 1 #10 February 12, 2004 Gehen Sie nach Muenchen! If you get bored in Munich you can do a day trip into Austria and check out Salzburg, or head to Dachau for a history lesson (it's a bit of a downer, but I thought it was too important to pass up). Edit: Whoops, wrong concentration camp.

lauras 0 #12 February 12, 2004 Munich, bitte. Also, if your layover in Zurich is longer than a couple of hours, take the train (right at the airport) 2 stops to Banhopfstrasse and have yourself a big time. You'll love "old town."
bkdice 0 #13 February 12, 2004 I've been to Munich a handful of times and really like it. It's a nice city and a lot of fun. My vote is for Munich. I think Vegas would be fun - but I'd wait til you had more time and A LOT of $$ to blow.
Darius11 12 #14 February 12, 2004 Go to Munich Vegas is fun for one day that’s it once you see every thing once that’s it nothing more. And you might win Yea right. Vegas does have great clubs, and food. If I were you Munich would be my choice. However, time change will kick your ass for a few days and that might be an issue. Hey, got your passport.....? Don't know if everyone has their passport but 2 of us do,,,,ginandjuice and me. I would much rather be sitting in the English Garten drinking a dunkel than losing money at a blackjack table. The thought of going to a foreign country w/ no set schedule or place to stay excites me,,,kind of like climbing the rope in gym class or doing that 1st jump.
