Aerodyne Mini Force 3 Ring

Recommended Posts

So I picked up a used infinity rig about a month ago. I realized right away that the 3 ring system was different than what I had seen and used before. I found out from my rigger what type of risers they were and did some research on them.

So I was curious if there was anyone else using these risers on a different rig other than an Icon and do you notice any difference? I have yet had the chance to jump my rig, so I have not been able to tell if there is any sort of difference. Seems that the only difference is in the pull force needed to cut-away. I have thought about going back to standard risers or the mini 3 ring, but seems like it would probably be pointless. I also think that they are kinda ugly looking. But I can live with that.

Check your mini-Force risers for compatibility before jumping them.
Since the bottom end of mini-force risers are slightly longer, there might be a compatibility issue with the length of the cutaway housings.
Connect them to your harness - in the usual manner - and pull the risers away from the MLW in a variety of directions. As long as there is no significant tension on the 3-Ring release housing, they are safe to jump.
Cutaway housings should never be loaded - on any harness.

They are already hooked up to the container. I have checked them out and there dont seem to be any issues that I can tell. My rigger had my rig for a month to do some work on it while I wad waiting for my cypres to get back and he never said that there seems to be an issue with the compatibility. So I would take it that means that there should not be an issue with the cutaway housings.

I will check with Velocity sports to see if they know of a compatibility issue with them.

Or he didn't check them for compatibility. I know of a couple master riggers that get a rig for repack, pull the main out and cut it away, I&R the reserve, then re-connect the main without even taking it out of the d-bag (yes, they have a method to ensure that the risers dont get flipped, swapped or otherwise screwed up)
